Ms. Calista had saved me. She’d used the Ironfang Pack’s influence to destroy that refuge.

I had nowhere to go and Dorothy adopted me.

Naturally, I’d lived with Dorothy.

After Dorothy died, her house at Ravenswood Apartments was left to me.

After cleaning the room, I went downstairs to take out the trash.

On my way back, my wrist was grabbed.

I was caught off guard, pulled off balance.

Then Lucian’s angry voice boomed above me.

‘Seren, who gave you the guts to block my number?”

I steadied myself, looking up at him, my gaze calm and emotionless.

Since I decided to leave him, there would be no reason for me to be afraid of this dangerous Alpha.

I didn’t answer his question.

‘My Alpha,” I said calmly, “let me go.”

His golden eyes burned with fury when he met my gaze.

Instead of letting me go, he tightened his grip with his claw.

But then, a sharp pain shot through his foot.

It was because of me.

Since he wouldn’t release me, I had no other choice but stomp hard on his foot.

I used all my might.

He finally loosened his grip.

I broke free and spun around, striding upstairs.

‘Seren!” he growled, catching up to me, reaching out again.

‘Don’t touch me!”

I knew what he was going to do since I had been his Luna for so many years.

And I reacted quickly to avoid his hand.

Seeing the aversion in my eyes, he snorted, teasingly.

‘Seren, you are my mate, and I’ve already touched every inch of your body, haven’t I?”

His words were crude and suggestive.

My face froze. I clenched my hands, my voice harsh and cold.

MAN

Lucian, we’re done. You don’t get to call yourself my mate-not after this. You’re a F**King jerk. All those nights you swore you’d protect me-was any of it real? Take your lies somewhere else, Alpha.”

Is Aurora still not up? Should I wake her?” he asked.

Lucian lowered his voice, putting the gift box on the coffee table and heading towards the bedroom.

He found it empty. Aurora wasn’t there on the bed.

He glanced around but still couldn’t find her except for Aurora’s clothes, hanging beside mine in the partly open

vardrobe.

He left the bedroom and looked at me, “Where is Aurora?”

He was asking while walking toward Aurora’s room, where her ashes were still kept!

ust as he placed his hand on the doorknob, I warned him, “Do you really want to see what’s inside? You’ll regret it or the rest of your life if you do.”

He raised an eyebrow and asked, “So what’s that?”

Why don’t you take a guess?” I asked, my eyes teary as I stared straight at him.
