Chapter 188 Her Skills Speak Louder
“If she’d known, she never would’ve invited her. What a huge loss.”
“She’s obsessed with Mr. Cross and hates Miss Shaw.”
Seraphina felt as if everyone were laughing at her.
Stella is Master Inkblot?
How is that possible?
How could that woman be good at everything, and reach the top in every field?
Stella finished her juice and took two steps toward her. “Miss Thorne, didn’t your side sincerely invite us here? Why the sudden talk of suing us?”
She held up her diamond–studded watch, her tone innocent. “I wasn’t late.”
She lifted her eyes lightly. “But what did you mean, Miss Thorne? Saying I bought my way in as soon as we met?”
Seraphina fell silent.
“We have a business relationship. You insulted me the second I arrived. Is this the way the Thorne family raises their children?”
Seraphina’s jaw tightened.
Shut up. Just shut up!
With so many people watching, she dared not lose control. She bit her lip until it nearly bled.
That bitch. Wasn’t she kidnapped yesterday?
What really happened to her?
Nolan was useless. Why hadn’t the scandal broken yet to shut her up?
She shot Nolan a glare, but he wasn’t paying attention to her.
His eyes were fixed sharply on Stella. “You’re Master Inkblot?”
“Do you doubt it?” Stella lifted her chin, a faint smile on her lips.
His assistant stepped forward again. “We’ve confirmed it. Miss Marlow is indeed Master Inkblot’s assistant.”
“That still doesn’t prove Stella is Master Inkblot,” Seraphina insisted stubbornly.
Even if it was true, she would call her a fake.
Between her own humiliation and Stella’s, she chose Stella’s without hesitation.

“Our contract states Master Inkblot must paint a piece live,” Nolan said.
Seraphina glared at him in frustration.
What is he doing?
He should just call her an imposter and throw her out.
If she proved herself, we would be the ones humiliated.
“The clause does exist,” Stella said.
Half a day’s work for 100 million dollars.
I’d be an idiot to turn it down.
“I will choose the subject,” Nolan said.
Stella smiled faintly. “Go ahead.”
Nolan thought of the paintings he’d bought. “The piece will be called ‘Sunlight Through Storm Clouds.”
Seraphina’s heart skipped.
What is he doing?
Why ask Stella to paint that?
Isn’t that the painting made by the girl he’s never stopped thinking about?
Is he doubting me? Testing her?
“Master Inkblot, begin your work.”
Seraphina grabbed Nolan’s arm. “Nolan, even if she paints it, it won’t prove anything. There’s no point.”
Nolan ignored her, making Seraphina even more panicked.
“Miss Shaw, please begin.”
Stella glanced at her coolly.
“No!” Seraphina suddenly blocked her way, overcome by fear.
She thought of the paintings Nolan had collected, of Haven’s Rest.
Stella lived there as a nun, didn’t she? It’s too much of a coincidence.
She was suddenly terrified.
“Seraphina, come here,” Nolan said coldly. When she didn’t move, he pulled her to his side.

“I’ll go get the paint for Miss Shaw,” Seraphina said through gritted teeth.
Nolan didn’t stop her.
Stella watched her walk over, a cold smile on her lips.
“Miss Thorne, the floor is slippery. Watch your step.”
Seraphina froze mid–step, pulling back.
She’d been about to throw herself forward and splash ink all over Stella to ruin her painting.
But Stella had seen right through her. Making a scene now would look deliberate.
Stella saw her hesitation and smiled.
‘What? Am I in your way?”

‘Not at all. But I tend to make a mess when I paint. You should stand back, unless you want ink on your dress.”
I’m fine,” Seraphina said, still refusing to believe she was Master Inkblot.
Splash!
Ink flew across the paper, spreading in beautiful patterns.
By some chance, a few drops landed on Seraphina’s white skirt, blooming into dark patterns.
How dare you! Can you even paint?” Seraphina shrieked.
Look!” someone called.
Everyone turned. The ink on her skirt had formed an ink wash painting.
It’s beautiful! That’s the best design of the year.”
Is that a coincidence?”
‘I think that’s real skill.”
Stella ignored the murmurs.
She was breathtaking when focused. Elias gazed at her tenderly.
Nolan’s heart raced uncontrollably.
