He wanted to approach her, but he feared a scene would ruin the engagement. He had no choice but t watch quietly from the corner.
“I always thought Stella rarely smiled. But whenever she’s with Elias, she just can’t help it,” Vincent said sipping his wine.
“They look perfect together,” Sylvie replied with a bright smile. She turned and saw Kenneth chatting v friends, leaving Iris alone. She walked over.
“Kenneth, you and Iris are getting your marriage license next week. Why are you acting like you’re still single?” She tugged at him firmly. “Go ask your Iris to dance.”
“I-”
“Are you going or not?”
Kenneth smiled and walked toward Iris. She was busy taking photos, determined to capture her best friend’s most beautiful moments.
“Something up?” she asked, adjusting her camera.
‘Can you
dance with me?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Iris frowned in confusion.
He leaned down slightly, his deep voice brushing her ear. “Didn’t you twist your waist last night in bed?”
Iris blushed. She pinched his side secretly and glared at him through gritted teeth. “Don’t mention it! And that bed of yours–you even gave it to Stella and Elias. Who knows if it’s even sturdy?”
‘I replaced it. I swear.”
And can you work out more? You only have six abs.”
I’m trying.”
‘Good. I believe in you!
Iris set down her camera. “Did your mom tell you to come dance with me ignoring me?”

Kenneth fell silent.
They turned around to find Sylvie watching them with a knowing smile.
“I know how to show off my love,” Iris said. She took Kenneth’s hand to the white piano, and they began playing a four–hand piece.
Sylvie smiled in satisfaction.
When the dance ended, Stella linked her arm through Elias‘. They held glasses of red wine and thanked the guests for coming.
“Dad, thank you. You decorated every corner perfectly. I love it,” Stella said.
Jasper had handled everything himself: the venue design, engagement souvenirs, the menu, and even th castle–shaped engagement cake. Every detail showed his love for his daughter.
“As long as you love it,” Jasper said, his eyes warm. “Elias, promise you’ll love my daughter and make her happy.”
“Mr. Moore, loving her and keeping her happy is all I need to do,” Elias replied.
The love in their eyes warmed Jasper’s heart.
“Stella, dance with me,” Jasper said.
“Okay.”
Jasper’s eyes were full of affection. Mid–dance, his eyes grew wet. He fought to keep his tears hidden so sh wouldn’t notice.
“Dad, are you thinking about Mom?” Stella asked softly.
“Yes,”
“I miss her too. She’s watching us, and she’s happy for us.”
“Stella, you’ve grown up, but you’ll always be my little girl. Don’t hold back if you’re hurt. I’m here You never have to suffer alone.”
“I know.”
Jasper smiled. He was happy, but a piece of his heart was still missing. He and Nicole had grown up attending parties together, always each other’s dance partner Those memories would stay with him
forever.

The head guard rushed over, panic–stricken. “Someone crashed through the wall. Security is activated.”
“Elias, protect Stella. Kenneth, guard Mom. Dad, and Grandpa. Leo, calm the guests,” Frederick ordered, heading toward the noise.
Stella squeezed Elias‘ hand tightly. “Is it Nolan?”
He patted her hand gently. “Don’t worry.”
“Mr. Moore, watch Stella for me.”
“Elias-”
“I’m going to help Frederick,” Elias said, keeping a firm grip on her hand.
“Be careful.”
“I will.” He stroked her hair softly.
“Mr. Cross! A dozen cars just exploded. Gideon was injured,” a guard shouted.
Elias‘ brow furrowed. He ran to Frederick’s side.
Shaw Estate security had already surrounded Nolan. He wore a bloodthirsty smile. When he stepped out, his eyes locked on Stella with pure possession.
“I’m here to take back my girl. Move if you don’t want to die,” he sneered.
He walked forward with arrogant strides, unbuttoning his suit jacket as he went. His blue eyes cut through the crowd, staring straight at Stella.
She’s breathtaking.
“Stella, come with me. I don’t want to hurt your family or friends.”
