Chapter 299 A Fateful Encounter
Chloe hurried over on short legs. “So pretty!
“If only we had coconuts.”
Thud!
A coconut rolled right in front of her. Chloe laughed brightly. “Wow! A real coconut!”
She swallowed quickly. “Only one? Liam needs one, Mommy too, Grandpa, and I’ll save one for Daddy.
Thud, thud, thud!
Coconuts kept rolling out, one after another.
They were secretly placed by the servants.
Chloe had no idea. She thought they fell from the palm tree. She hugged the trunk and whispered her thanks.
“Liam!”
She turned and didn’t see Liam.
Liam heard her and ran over at once. “I’m here, Chloe.”
“Liam, drive the car over! I want to load the gems and shells.”
“Okay.”
Liam drove his miniature Rolls–Royce toy car. They loaded basket after basket of jewels onto it.
“Grandpa, can I take these home?”
“Of course you can.”
Chloe gave a coconut to Jasper, then to Stella and Liam. She climbed into the car. “Let’s go!”
The two little ones had a wonderful time.
When Elias arrived, Chloe ran over holding a coconut, panting. “Daddy, I can’t hold it anymore.”
Elias took the coconut and brushed sand off her.
“I picked the sweetest one for you, Daddy.”
“Thank you, my princess.”
“You worked hard. Drink it quickly.”
“Mm.”

He lifted her with one arm and held the coconut with the other, walking toward Stella.
“All done? Stella asked
He nodded and turned to Jasper. Jasper, I bought your favorite black truffles”
Jasper smiled gently.
“Chloe, come quick! Bring your shovel. There’s a gem mine over here!”
“I’m coming, Liam!”
Chloe raced over, put on her tiny sunglasses, and hopped into the car.
Stella and Elias watched their children, full of happiness.
“Grandpa, I want to build a castle here to keep all my gems.
“I’ll help you”
Jasper took off his shoes and walked over barefoot, helping the children build a sandcastle together.
“Elías, thank you all these years.”
The children were mostly cared for by nannies, but Elias was always there for them.
Because of him, she could focus on her career.
“No need to thank me. We’re husband and wife.”
“I know you prefer actions over words.”
While no one was looking, Stella kissed his cheek quietly.
Elias looked surprised. “Mrs. Cross, tonight we’ll continue.”
She smiled shyly. Elias put an arm around her. The soft wind felt warm and peaceful.
Time flew by. Seven years passed in the blink of an eye.
At Silverspine Mountain in Azure Peak City, Jasper came to pray year after year.
“Grandpa, wipe your sweat.”
Chloe didn’t fully understand love, but she knew Grandpa came faithfully, hoping to see Grandma again.
“I’m fine, sweetie. Don’t tire yourself.”
“I’m not tired.”

Chloe followed him up to the church. It was crowded with visitors
She grew curious and stared at a circle of people,
“Grandpa, I’m going to look.”
“Keep Chloe safe”
The bodyguards nodded.
Chloe pushed through the crowd and saw a boy covered in blood lying on the ground. No one dared to help,
“Are you okay?”
She crouched down. The boy slowly opened his eyes. A soft, milky scent filled the air.
“Should I call an ambulance and the police?”
She took out her handkerchief and pressed it to his wound.
The crowd held back, afraid of getting into trouble.
The bodyguards tried to lead her away, but Chloe called for help using her kids‘ smartwatch
A faint warmth spread through the boy’s cold heart.
“Isn’t she afraid of being framed?”
“It’s so kind of her.”
“I hope she doesn’t get into trouble.”
Chloe bandaged him skillfully. “Help is coming. You’ll be okay.”
Her soft voice made the pain feel lighter.
“Chloe.” Jasper arrived just as the ambulance pulled up.
“Grandpa.”
Jasper sighed in relief when he saw she was unhurt.
The boy was lifted onto a stretcher. He still looked back.
Chloe met his clear, sharp eyes and smiled gently. The whole world seemed to brighten.
Chloe…
The name carved itself into Kieran Jagger’s heart.
