Chapter 305 Forever in His Wishes
“Stella, get some sleep,” Elias said gently.
“I can’t,” she replied.
“Then rest your eyes for a bit. I’ll handle everything,” he assured her.
She leaned against his shoulder and slowly closed her eyes.
Memories of her life with Jasper since they’d reunited flooded her mind, filling her with sorrow.
But she knew he’d loved her mother more.
His love for her over the years had been real, but it had also come with a sense of duty.
In the quiet of the night, he must have suffered greatly.
His true love was gone–only his body remained.
He’d tried so hard to be a good father, to make up for lost time.
He must have been so tired.
Meeting her mother again, apologizing, keeping his promise–those had been his deepest wishes.
She hoped with all her heart that his dreams had finally come true.
Finisher
On the day of the funeral, Jasper and Nicole were laid to rest together.
Relatives, friends, and the most influential people in Azure Peak City gathered at Orchid Isle Cemetery.
A light rain fell, casting a somber mood over the crowd.
Stella wore a black dress, her face pale and makeup–free, her hair tied back in a simple ponytail.
Elias stood beside her, holding a black umbrella, his expression solemn.
Stella took a deep breath and placed a bouquet on the grave.
As she closed her eyes, a tear rolle
d down her cheek, brushing the petals gently.
Dad, Mom, don’t worry. Stella won’t cry.
She stepped back, and Elias and the others laid their flowers too.
Leaders from all walks of life offered their condolences.
“Thank you all for coming,” Stella said, bowing slightly.

They quickly helped her straighten up.
Mark, Leo, Frederick, and Kenneth helped greet the guests.
As the crowd thinned, the tombstone was surrounded by flowers.
“Ms. Shaw, please accept my condolences,” Shane said.
He’d matured a lot–no longer the reckless boy he’d once been.
After Sean’s passing three years earlier, he and Nadia had taken over the Corbin family.
Finished
“Stella, don’t grieve too much,” Nadia said, squeezing her hand gently before turning away to wipe her
tears.
She’d spent half her life in conflict, finding her family only in her later years.
Now, she’d lost another loved one.
“Aunt Nadia, you too,” Stella replied.
Nadia pulled her into a hug.
Amelia and Jaron stood by the tombstone, reluctant to leave.
“Do you think Nicole forgave Jasper?” Jaron asked, staring at the photo on the tombstone, his heart aching.
“Nicole would never have stayed mad at Jasper–not truly,” Amelia said, touching Nicole’s photo, her vision blurred.
Aaron and Vincent repeatedly urged Elias to take good care of Stella.
When the last guests left, only their small family of four remained–standing tall against the rain.
Instead of returning to Cloudreach Manor, Stella went to the house where Jasper had lived.
She wanted to sort through his things alone.
“Stella, let me help,” Elias said, unbuttoning his suit jacket and rolling up his sleeves.
Stella suddenly stopped him. “I’ll handle this. Go check on the kids–they haven’t eaten much today.”
He stroked her head and pulled her into a hug. “Stella, don’t be too sad. Jasper had been waiting to reunite with Nicole for so long. Living was painful for him.”
“I know,” she whispered.
“I’ll go check on Liam and Chloe, and bring you something to eat,” he said.
“I—”
“No arguments,” he cut her off, covering her mouth with his hand, his eyes filled with concern.

Stella nodded softly.
She sorted through the study alone. When she found the painting of their small family, her eyes grew
moist.
It was the piece they’d created together, titled “Family.”
She carefully set it aside and continued organizing.
Knock, knock.
“Come in,” she called.
Cody entered, looking somber. He nodded respectfully. “Ms. Shaw, these are Mr. Moore’s assets. He prepared everything before he passed.”
