Chapter 364 May We Always Be Happy and Healthy
“Why did you prepare so many gifts?”
Iris lifted her chin proudly. “I’ve always loved spoiling my best friend.”
“Mom, I thought you said you loved spoiling your son most? That I was your favorite protector.”
Miles really was the most troublesome son.
“Wait, honey. Didn’t you say I was the one you spoiled most?”
Kenneth joined in, looking utterly innocent.
Iris clenched her fists, annoyed. “Kenneth! Miles!”
Her voice echoed across the beach.
“Mom, spare me some dignity! There are people watching.”
“Honey, calm down! Keep your diva image!”
Iris chased after them. The three ran playfully along the shore.
Everyone laughed loudly behind them.
“No one spoils Stella more than I do. I grew up with her. I’ve spoiled her since we were kids.” Tess glanced at her husband and son.
Frederick understood at once. “Absolutely.
“Stella, I owe you everything. If it weren’t for you, Tess would never have married me.”
“Yep. If Mom wasn’t so busy spoiling Aunt Stella, I probably wouldn’t even have been born.” Jason backed his mother up.
He wasn’t wrong. Tess really did dote on Stella deeply.
Stella laughed happily.
“Boss, come open the gifts!” Tess said.
Hearing that old nickname made Stella feel young again.
“I’m coming.”
Stella and Elias sat together and unwrapped the presents.
“Mom, you’re definitely the favorite one in the family” Chloe pouted and helped tidy up.
Stella patted her cheek affectionately.

Tess looked over. “Is that Mr. Jagger?”
“Please call me Kieran, Mrs. Shaw.”
“We raise Chloe to be cherished and spoiled,” Tess said firmly.
“Mrs. Shaw, I promise. If she marries me, I’ll love and protect her with everything I have.”
Tess nodded. “Our families live by one rule: we spoil our partners. Anyone who breaks that and hurts their love will face consequences.”
“I’ll never let that happen.”
Kieran didn’t feel threatened. He felt accepted.
“Mom, don’t scare my future girlfriend like that,” Jason said.
Tess laughed. “Son, talk to me when you actually have someone.”
Jason looked defeated.
Leo waved him over. “Over here! Join the single club.”
Jax pulled him over. “Come on. Alcohol is better than lovey-dovey stuff.”
Iris returned, carried on Miles’ back.
“I’m exhausted. Honey, can you still walk? Let our son-”
“Mom, Dad can walk!” Miles quickly cut her off.
Kenneth waved his hand. He would keep walking even if tired. He refused to seem old.
Stella finished opening gifts and read every wish carefully.
“Thank you, everyone,” she said, raising her glass.
“Being your family is the greatest luck of my life.”
Everyone raised their glasses.
“To family. May we always be happy and healthy.”
They spoke together again and again.
Joyful laughter filled the air.
“Shane, how have you been?” Stella walked over, noticing he had been quiet.
“I’m fine, Stella.”
Shane was still gentle and quiet around her, like a little brother.
“Thank
you for looking after Aunt Nadia,” Stella said.
“It’s the least I can do.”
They clinked glasses.
“I really envy you. You found someone who loves you truly for a lifetime.”
Stella patted his shoulder. “Your wife loves you deeply, you know.”
She had met Shane’s wife before. She didn’t see an arranged marriage-she saw real love.
Thinking of his gentle wife, Shane smiled softly.
“My wife once told me a legend from her hometown. If lovers kiss under a sky full of stars, they’ll find each other again in the next life.”
Stella smiled at the starry sky. “You miss her, don’t you?”
He nodded. A weather alert popped up on his phone. Remembering his wife, who was weak and afraid of thunder, his voice turned urgent. “Stella, I have to leave.”
“Go to her.” Stella smiled knowingly. “Cherish her, Shane.”
He nodded and hurried off.
“Mom, do you think the legend Shane talked about is real?”
Stella shook her head, gently brushing Chloe’s wind-tousled hair.
“No one knows, darling.”
