Chapter 37 Turning the Tables Online
Tess scratched the back of her head and gave an awkward grin. “Miss Monroe, you’re a celebrity. That wouldn’t exactly look good.”
“I’ll wear a disguise.”
Seeing how eager they both were, Stella felt a quiet warmth settle in her chest.
“Stella, what do you think?”

“They just got put on academic probation, and now they’re out here spreading rumors again. Honestly, I don’t think they’ll last much longer at Azure Peak University.”
Iris nodded slowly. “So, are you going to reveal that you’re Nirvana? Really shut them up for good.”
“Not yet.”
“You’re just going to let them keep running their mouths?”
“I’m not the type to suffer in silence. These people love throwing accusations around. I’ll hand them all over as pro bono case studies for the law students at Azure Peak University. Honestly, I’m just worried there won’t be enough of them to go around.”
Tess wished those two would just get expelled already.
“What about the Haven’s Rest Convent situation?”
“They say I stole money. Where’s the proof?”
“Even without proof, those online trolls will treat it like it’s fact. I swear, some people’s brains are purely decorative.”
Iris, who dealt with internet drama on a daily basis, just shook her head.
“Iris, the car I’ve been driving lately? It’s yours.”
Iris blinked, then lightly smacked her own forehead. “Oh right! I’ve got too many cars, I totally forgot.”
“Then just put out a statement that you’re my close friend and the car belongs to you.”
“Easy.”
Iris immediately fired off a tweet about it.

“Tess, make sure none of the accounts spreading this garbage slip through the cracks.”
“Got it.”
Even if they just got suspended, the rumor–mongers would still pay a serious price.
“Stella, what about Silas?”
“I’ll handle him myself.”
Hearing that, both Iris and Tess exchanged a look of pure anticipation.
Iris went ahead and posted all the scholarships she’d earned over the years, along with prize money from various math competitions.
With her massive following, the internet promptly lost its collective mind.
[User123: Wait, hold on–a chart–topping singer is her best friend? Okay, wild theory: is Stella actually Nirvana?!]
[MusicFan88: How close are they?! Iris just straight–up gave her a luxury car to drive.]
[TruthSeeker42: Let’s not forget how shady some people are. Can we really take anything they say at face value?]
[CuriousCat: Okay but Stella’s resume is insane. These awards are worth serious money, and top universities are paying her to attend.]
[SkepticalSam: Note to the haters: actual geniuses don’t pay for school–they get paid.]
[GossipGirl: Exactly. You’re accusing Stella of stealing from an orphanage? Where’s the proof? Stop making stuff up.]
[FormerFan: Everyone at Azure Peak University knows what those two are really like. Just wait for the comeback. I believe Miss Shaw is innocent.]
With just two posts from Iris, the tide of public opinion had completely turned,
Silas and Jasmine were stunned.
“She’s actually Iris‘ best friend?”
Silas looked like he’d been hit by a truck,
Jasmine was equally thrown.

Iris wasn’t just a celebrity–she was also the daughter of the Monroe family, one of the four prominent families in Azure Peak.
With her in Stella’s corner, would the Harlow family even survive this?
“Silas… you don’t think she’s actually Nirvana, do you?”
“No way.
Silas dismissed it immediately.
“Is she going to come after us?”
“Iris isn’t stupid. Stella’s just some friend with no connections. Iris might stick her neck out out of loyalty, but she’s not going to help Stella pull off anything shady.”
Jasmine exhaled, slightly relieved.
Stella watched the online sentiment shift and allowed herself a small smile.
Time for the main event.
The next day.
Within twenty–four hours, Silas received both a cease and desist letter and a court summons.
It happened so fast he didn’t even have time to process it.
And that wasn’t all–Thorne Group’s stock took a nosedive the second the market opened.
The sudden collapse threw the entire Thorne household into chaos.
Arthur gripped his cane so hard his knuckles went white. “What the hell is going on?”
Silas‘ mind flashed to Stella’s cool, unreadable expression. Could it be her?
He shook the thought off almost instantly.
Stella was just someone who’d grown up in foster care, with some academic talent.
At best, she was a high–level employee now.
