Chapter 46 The Trap Is Set
[User456: Mr. Thorne, go big–invite Nirvana to the wedding too!]
[MusicLover22: Not a bad idea. I’m dying to know what Nirvana actually looks like.]
[CuriousCat: Nirvana’s appearance fee isn’t cheap. Mr. Thorne might not be able to swing it.]
[Skeptic99: Nirvana never does public appearances, but if the price is right, she’d probably show.]
[HopefulFan: Mr. Thorne, if you can’t afford it, let’s crowdfund! I’d kill to see Nirvana in person–her music got me through my entire teenage years.]
Silas hadn’t expected things to spiral like this.
If he didn’t bring Nirvana to the wedding, people would call him a fraud–just some rich kid playing pretend.
After all, his whole TikTok persona was built on being “Golden Boy of Azure Peak City“.
His image couldn’t take the hit. He needed Nirvana at that engagement party.
If she showed, Iris would probably come too.
That meant the Monroe family’s daughter and the legendary songwriter Nirvana in one room.
Guests would flock to the engagement just for a chance to rub elbows with Iris. And with Nirvana there, half the entertainment industry might show up just to network.
It would prove to the world that Thorne Group was still standing, that the Thornes hadn’t actually pissed off the Monroes–that it was all just a misunderstanding.
Maybe Thorne Group could even bounce back because of this.
Excited, Silas tracked down Arthur and laid out his plan.
“Invite Iris and Nirvana to your wedding?”
“Exactly.”
Arthur frowned as Silas walked him through the logic.
It wasn’t a terrible idea, he had to admit.
“Grandpa, what do you think?”
“Could work. But what’s the price tag?”
“At least fifty million, probably.”
The Thornes exchanged grim looks.

But considering what it could do for the company, Arthur gritted his teeth and gave the green light.
Imperial Crest Towers.
Iris and Stella were sprawled on the couch, nursing pineapple–flavored seltzers and catching up.
“Silas is such a manipulative little–does he really think I’m that easy? I don’t fall for guilt trips.”
Iris draped an arm over Stella’s shoulders. “Stella, should I take the gig or not?”
“Ring…”
Both their phones went off simultaneously.
They listened, then looked at each other.
Identical smiles spread across their faces as they spoke in unison, “Tell him yes.”
The moment they hung up, Iris burst out laughing. “Stella, what do you think Silas is gonna do when he finds out you’re Nirvana?”
“Probably lose his mind.”
They clinked their glasses.
“Well, that settles that.”
Iris grinned, thoroughly pleased.
“Saturday. Let’s go eat.”
A sly glint flickered in Stella’s eyes.
Silas, Jasmine–get ready for the fifty–million–dollar surprise you just bought yourselves.
The next morning.
Azure Peak University.
Julian stared at the invitation in his hand, utterly speechless.
“Stella, I swear, these people are shameless. They’re even after my retirement fund.”
Stella glanced at the card–Silas and Jasmine’s engagement party.
“You have no idea how desperate these two are. They’ve invited damn near every professor at Azure Peak University. Handing out invites like candy.
“Inviting us is one thing–we’ve got pensions, even if we don’t have salaries.
“But I heard they’ve invited students too. They’re literally going after their financial aid money now.”

Julian vented for a solid five minutes.
“Stella, are you going?”
“Yeah.”
He blinked, surprised. “Seriously?”
“Should be entertaining.”
Julian’s eyes lit up. “Then I’m in. Free food and a show? Sign me up.”
Stella was about to head out when Jasmine’s voice stopped her.
“Miss Shaw. Silas and I are getting engaged on Saturday. You have to come.”
Jasmine thrust an invitation at her, loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.
“Iris will be there. She’s even performing. Think of it as a free concert.”
Murmurs rippled through the gathered students.
“I couldn’t get tickets to Iris‘ last tour. I’m definitely going this time.”
“Jasmine is so lucky! She got Iris and Nirvana for her engagement.”
“This is Nirvana’s first public appearance ever. Huge deal.”
“Iris and Nirvana in one place? We have to thank Jasmine for this.”
Jasmine soaked up the attention like a sponge.
Something calculating flickered behind her eyes.
The whole internet knew Nirvana was coming to her engagement now.
Fans from all over the country were already planning trips to the Azure Peak Grand Hotel, hoping for a glimpse.
With that many eyes watching, what would happen when Stella–who’d been parading around pretending to be Nirvana–came face to face with the real thing?
