Chapter 49 The Nirvana Reveal
Jasmine’s eyes welled up, her expression full of wounded pride.
“Are you saying every woman in this room wearing black came here to spite you?”
Finished
The moment the words left her mouth, Jasmine felt the weight of dozens of stares–none of them exactly friendly.
“And your fiancé? Was he trying to ruin your mood too?”
Jasmine’s gaze snapped to Silas, who was standing there in a black suit, his face now completely rigid.
“Miss Shaw,” Jasmine said, her voice trembling just enough to sell the hurt, “Silas and I genuinely love each other. I don’t understand why you’re so hostile toward me.”
A single tear slipped down her cheek. She looked fragile. Victimized.
“Then I hope you two stay glued together so the rest of us don’t have to deal with either of you.”
“You-”
This was supposed to be her night. And now she was being humiliated in front of everyone.
Jasmine was this close to losing it.
“That day, I got all dressed up for your wedding…”
Iris‘ voice cut through the tension, pulling everyone’s attention back to the stage.
[No way…!]
[It’s really her!]
[Oh my god, I’m so jealous of everyone in that room right now!]
[I’m literally outside the hotel. She’s like fifty feet away from me!)
[So where’s Nirvana? Which one is she?]
Iris‘ performance flipped a switch. The energy in the room, in the live stream, even among the crowd gathered outside the hotel–it all skyrocketed.
Silas and Jasmine danced beneath the stage, all smiles.
When the song ended, Iris raised the mic. “It honestly means a lot to be here and witness a fan’s happiness in person. Congratulations on your engagement.”
Before Iris could even think of leaving, Silas and Jasmine rushed up the stage steps, practically in unison. “Iris, thank you so much for coming!”
“Having you here is an incredible honor for the Thorne family.”

Silas was about to keep the moment going when someone whispered something in his ear.
He took the mic back, his face lit up with barely contained excitement.
“Thank you all for being here tonight to celebrate with me and Jasmine. And a special thank you to Iris for that beautiful performance.
“My fiancée and I have been fans of hers for years. We’re also huge supporters of Nirvana.
“Her music? It’s been the soundtrack to our youth.
“We genuinely adore her. Having her here tonight? It feels like fate.
“So please, join me in giving a warm welcome to the one and only–Nirvana.”
The room erupted. Everyone watching the live stream was glued to their screens.
Stella walked slowly toward the stage in her heels, and for a second, the crowd went silent.
“Wait. Why is she going up?”
“Don’t tell me… Stella is Nirvana?”
“Last time people even dragged her for using Nirvana as her name, saying she was just clout–chasing.”
“Hold on–didn’t Iris say Stella was a close friend? And Nirvana basically writes exclusively for Iris… so yeah. That tracks.”
“Okay, this is about to get messy.”
“Someone fast–forward. I just need to know how this ends.”
“I thought Stella was some small–town girl raised in a convent? She writes music too?”
Pandemonium.
Jasmine’s face went pale under all that carefully applied makeup.
Silas‘ expression shifted fast. His grip on the mic tightened–like he might snap it in half.
Derek and Ruby broke out in a cold sweat.
The Thornes? They looked like they might pass out at any second.
Because if Stella really was Nirvana… then the Thorne family had just dropped sixty million on a publicity stunt that made them look like complete idiots–on a global scale.
Iris watched it all unfold with a satisfied smile.
Stella lifted the hem of her gown and climbed the stairs to the center of the stage, graceful as ever. A polished smile touched her lips, but everyone could feel the quiet mockery beneath it.
