You Faked Your Deaths to Punish Me?! That’s Illegal, Family! novel Chapter 83

Chapter 1

I’m a world-class cardiac surgeon. To help me get to emergency cases faster, the government gave me a special vehicle with license plate 1111-mine and mine alone.

Whenever this car hits the road, traffic control systems automatically clear my path, escorting me through green lights all the way to my

destination.

After getting the car, I’d been keeping it at my fiancé Marcus Bryant’s place so he could help maintain it.

That is, until I got an urgent call to perform a heart transplant on my old mentor-someone who held classified state secrets. I rushed to Marcus’s house to get the car.

As I was about to leave, some random woman yanked open the door and slid into the back seat.

“Take me to the mall first for my nail appointment,” she ordered without missing a beat. “Then pick up the gelato Marcus ordered for me. If even one drop melts, I’ll end you!”

“This is my car,” I said, thinking she had me confused with someone else. I kept my voice calm. “I have an emergency at the airport. Please get out right now.”

She exploded: “Bullshit! What kind of driver thinks they can pull one over on me? Open your damn eyes and look at the plates!”

“You’re the one who’s got it wrong,” the housekeeper chimed in, giving me a sideways look. “Everyone in Chicago knows Mr. Bryant loves taking

Miss Sullivan out in this car.”

I froze.

My fiancé had the balls to use this car to drive her around? This was huge.

Using this vehicle without my permission was basically stealing government property.

That’s a minimum three-year sentence.

Not to mention sneaking around with some woman behind my back.

That made it even worse!

If the Bryant family had any sense, they’d make Marcus apologize properly. Given that he was my fiancé, the government might be willing to cut

him some slack.

But…

This Miss Sullivan character who came out of nowhere-she was beyond saving.

Since she wouldn’t get out and I didn’t have time to argue, I just ignored her and started the engine.

Saving lives came first.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Suddenly, the Sullivan screamed and lunged forward from the back seat, frantically grabbing at the wheel.

“How dare you drive off without my say-so?!”

The car instantly spun out of control, heading straight for the wall!

In that split second before impact, I wrestled bac

control, slamming the brakes while yanking the steering wheel hard to one side.

The car swerved and crashed into a flower bed before the engine died.

“Are you insane??” I gasped, still shaking.

“That’s what you get for touching what’s not yours!” She rolled her eyes. “Try that again and I’ll chop your hands off! Bitch!”

I couldn’t be bothered with her. I immediately got out to check the dented hood.

Thank God everything still worked.

Just as I was about to get back in, the Bryant family’s security guards swarmed over and shoved me aside.

Under the woman’s smug gaze, one of them immediately took over the driver’s seat.

“Think you can mess with Miss Sullivan and just walk away?” they snarled. “We’ll skin you alive!”

I couldn’t believe the Bryant family’s guards were acting like her lapdogs.

“Who is she?” I asked the housekeeper, who was watching this whole circus like it was entertainment.

“You don’t know Miss Sullivan?” The housekeeper looked at me like I was a joke. “She’s the young master’s most beloved intern assistant,

Celeste Sullivan!”

I almost laughed out loud.

Just some intern assistant, and she thinks she can throw her weight around here.

The Bryant family’s management was seriously lacking.

“I’m calling Marcus directly,” I said, pulling out my phone with annoyance.

Celeste immediately tensed up, watching me like a hawk.

Since Celeste was his spoiled pet project, I wanted to see how he’d handle this mess.

The phone rang forever before someone finally picked up.

“Marcus, using my car for joyrides is already endangering public safety.”

“Now get your intern assistant and security guards out of my car! Don’t let them interfere with my mission, and maybe I can put in a good word so you won’t end up in prison.”

Long silence on the other end.

He let out a cold laugh. “Who do you think you are? Why should I wrong Celeste for your sake! Competing with her for the car-at least take a

look at whether you’re even worthy!”

I was stunned.

They

The Bryant family had begged me to marry Marcus to repay a life-saving debt. They said he was good-looking with a nice body, and would take care of me wholeheartedly.

Thinking that I could continue to devote more energy to my work, I casually glanced at the photo and agreed to the engagement.

But I never expected my fiancé to be this kind of person-embarrassing me in public for some worthless intern and secretly using my car!

Didn’t he realize that if we couldn’t get married, the Bryant family would go bankrupt?

It was only because of ME that the government gave the Bryants all those lucrative contracts!

He was being absolutely ridiculous!
