Oh No! They're Salivating Over Me! novel Chapter 9

The moment Eric's hand almost landed on the self-destruct device, someone grabbed his arm.

"Hold on," said Herkoen.

"Mr. Wenley?" Eric was very confused. Why would Herkoen suddenly change his mind? In the past, he would never go back on his decisions.

A million thoughts were running through Herkoen's mind at that moment. Ever since the Renegade Coalition was formed, they had a large population. The descendants of the Wenley family had always been the coalition's leaders as well.

Herkoen belonged to the generation with the highest rank for psionic strength in the Wenley family. His father had always been talking about Herkoen's descendants. He said if the Wenley family bloodline ended with Herkoen, then it would be his fault since he was Herkoen's father.

All the countries had done something to wrong the Wenley family. Before the Wenley family killed them all, their bloodline absolutely could not end.

If Daphne truly was pregnant with Herkoen's child, then he would not be letting his family down if he died in an accident in the future.

"Let's go." In the end, Herkoen chose to abandon the car and leave.

As soon as both of them landed on the ground, they were greeted by a subordinate. Then, they left in another flying car.

Herkoen glanced in the direction of the battleship as he was leaving. As they were flying at a low altitude, he had no choice but to look up.

Lester locked eyes with him.

Herkoen hated it the most when others looked down at him. It was an insult to him.

Lester was just someone who rode the coattails of his family's glory.

Every time Herkoen appeared in Hildi, he would personally come and catch him. Herkoen enjoyed playing the cat-and-mouse game with him.

Then, Herkoen gave Lester the finger to taunt him.

"Colonel Lester, do you want to send someone to go after those criminals?" a subordinate asked.

"No need." Lester knew they could never catch Herkoen.

Herkoen was the most wanted criminal, yet he was still at large, and he was able to get lucky and escape every time. That meant he was skilled. Any unplanned pursuit would only end with consequences beyond imagination.

Britney opened the door to let the approaching soldiers enter.

Daphne sat on the bed. She felt a weight had been lifted off of her chest as soon as she saw Lester.

"Are you hurt?" Lester asked with concern.

Daphne shook her head. "No."

"Ms. Miller is just saying that to not make you worry. She said her belly was aching earlier," said Britney.

Daphne felt quite embarrassed after Britney exposed her without any mercy.

Lester took two steps forward, and Daphne thought he wanted to say something. However, Daphne was lifted in the next second as he carried her tightly in her arms.

"There's no need to trouble—"

"Shh. Don't talk."

Lester stepped into the battleship with her in his arms. He let her rest in a relatively soundproof room and called for the Robo Doctor at the same time.

"Have some rest. I have some things to take care of. The Robo Doctor will leave on its own after the checkup is done. Don't worry," said Lester.

"Alright. Thank you very much for today, Colonel Lester," said Daphne.

"Don't mention it."

After Lester left, Daphne lay on the bed and did the checkup by following the instructions from the Robo Doctor.

The thought of Lester's strong arms and powerful breath as he carried her made her face flush and her heart pound.

However, when they left the flying car earlier, there was a gap between the car and the battleship, with them being one step away from each other. People on the ground looked like they were ants from up there. She would have been crushed to pieces if she fell through the gap.
