Chapter 1098
Chapter 1098
Time seemed to freeze.
Cedrick did not answer Catelyn, and she did not speak again.
The two looked at each other in silence.
The silence was so long that Catelyn thought Cedrick would not answer her. Suddenly, however, Cedrick's raspy voice rang out. "I'm sure your grandmother will make the best decision for you.".
It was a simple sentence, but it gave Catelyn a blow.
Her hand that was gripping Cedrick dropped abruptly.
She held back her tears, stood motionless in front of him, and showed a bitter smile at the corner of her mouth, "I see. Sorry to interrupt. I shouldn't have come today."
"I have work to do. I'm going to the office." Cedrick averted his eyes and said coldly to Albert. Actually, his heart was aching. "Albert, stay with Mrs. Mason. Keep her safe until Madam Atherton's people come."
The last thing Albert wanted was for Catelyn and Cedrick to have a fight, but he knew Cedrick never changed his mind.
"All right. I'll make sure Mrs. Mason is safe." Albert nodded respectfully.
Cedrick then walked past Catelyn with his long legs and made his way out the door.
Catelyn remained standing there motionless. As he passed her, he inevitably bumped into her shoulder.
It wasn't a hard hit, but Catelyn bluntly fell backwards onto the couch as if she had been hit hard...
When she sat up from the couch, Cedrick had walked out the door without looking back at her.
His back was like a mockery of her expectations.
'How naive I was! How could I have thought that the rift between US would disappear after I found out the truth?
'How ridiculous I was!'
"Mrs. Mason?" Albert called out with concern, and Catelyn came back to her senses.
Catelyn gave a vacant smile, "I need to use the bathroom."
"Okay." Albert hurriedly helped Catelyn up.
Catelyn was Cedrick's wife and she used to live here, so she knew the house well.
Catelyn went straight to the bathroom at the end of the hall, which was normally used by the maids. Albert assumed that Catelyn was in a bad mood, so she didn't bother going upstairs. Albert had a maid follow Catelyn to the bathroom.
However, after several minutes, the maid didn’t hear any sound from the bathroom...
"Mrs. Mason?" The maid knocked on the door and asked, "Mrs. Mason, is there anything I can do for you?"
No one answered.
The maid got anxious. 'Mrs. Mason doesn't fall on the floor, does she?
