Chapter 755
However, the angrier he was, the more he had control over his emotions. He looked at Cedrick, expressionless. "Are you so serious about her?"
Cedrick did not even hesitate and replied, "I had given you the answer before. Between her and the heirloom, I will choose her. So stop your attacks. This will not affect my relationship with her at all."
Unlike his usual temperament, Grandpa Mason's expression was icy cold, he said word by word, "Ced, before tonight, I could pretend that you were just playing a tea party, but now, I want her to leave, no negotiations."
His face was calm like the lake, but his heart was rolling in big tides. Cold breeze crept in from all directions, pulling someone down into a bottomless pit.
Cedrick knew that Grandpa Mason had hidden his true intentions.
His hand in his pocket slowly rolled into a fist. "Catelyn and the two kids are my bottom line. Grandpa, since you made it clear already, then I made it clear to you as well. 1 will not let anyone who picks on her get away."
Cedrick did not even take another look at Grandpa Mason and left.
Just like he expected, he did not hear Grandpa Mason's furious shout either.
Nevertheless, this was the actual calm before the storm.
When he returned upstairs, Catelyn and the kids had already set up the dining table with a few scrumptious dishes.
Somehow, he felt much more grounded and calmer.
Catelyn had an apron wrapped around her waist. She looked at him calmly, somewhat concerned. "Did you get a consensus from Grandpa? Did he give you a hard time?"
The last thing Catelyn wished for was for Cedrick to choose between her and Grandpa Mason.
She had always given in to Grandpa mason, the biggest reason for which was because Grandpa Mason raised Cedrick. Now that he was old and no longer strong as he was, it would be easy for Catelyn to look bad if she pissed him off. That was a line that she would never cross.
"How can he give me a hard time? He could only give me some useless threats," Cedrick said casually.
Catelyn could not see his concern and therefore calmed down.
"Then wash up and have dinner now."
Miles went to wash his hands too.
The little one had to stand on a stool before the sink. He applied some hand soap, his plump little hands contrasting with Cedrick's humongous ones.
He exclaimed, "Big Demon, your fingers are so thick."
The two came out of the bathroom, with Miles hopping cheerfully next to Cedrick.
