“Heh, heh heh heh…”
Embarrassed. She was so embarrassed she wanted to find a crack in the ground and crawl in.
Blanca swallowed and smiled pleasingly. “Sorry, I misunderstood. I knew you were a good person, Matthew! People like you, er… all well-dressed and well-mannered and good-looking, you couldn’t do anything to take advantage of someone while their guard was down. I was too blind to see it!”
Listening to her apology, Matthew found the first half normal, but something seemed off the more he got back.
At the end, his face sank.
“You’re blind, you say?” Matthew growled. So blind she married him?
“Huh?” Blanca hadn’t realized anything was off and she looked at Matthew, a bit confused, not taking what he meant even after a whole minute.
Whether she was blind or not had nothing to do with this man. Wasn’t he butting in too much?
“Since you’ve misunderstood me, how do you plan to make it up to me?”
“…” This damn man.
Matthew really was a merchant who squeezed you for everything you had at every waking moment.
Blanca couldn’t help but roll her eyes, but… anyway, she was under his roof so she had to play by his rules. She bit her lip and swallowed a jab. “Up to you. I’ll do anything you want.” So long as she hadn’t been taken advantage of, that was fine.
“Really. Anything?” A smile drifted up on Matthew’s lips.
Blanca jolted. Somehow, she felt like that smile had strange intentions…
But she couldn’t take back her words, so she nodded. Blanca nodded seriously.
