On the way to the office, Blanca’s head was down, and it was hard to tell what she was thinking. Was she unhappy about what happened in the morning?
The car coasted along steadily, and Matthew suddenly spoke. “Blanca.”
“What? Just say it.” Blanca was still holding “beansprout” against Matthew, and didn’t wear a favorable expression.
Matthew, though, was in a good mood. He suddenly felt like a morning like this had its charms. He was dealing with work and did not realize he had called her name. Faced with her cold attitude, he was a little displeased. “Remember what you said last night?”
“Huh? Did I say something?”
Matthew didn’t say anything else. Blanca couldn’t help but look up at him. He seemed busy, dealing with company emails on his iPad even while sitting in the car. He looked so pretty the way he bent his head over work.
The sunlight drew out the outlines of his handsome face.
“It’s not cool saying things halfway, Matthew?”
Matthew was dealing with work, but it was a bit clogged in his chest. He suddenly lifted his head at Blanca’s words, his expression serious. “I didn’t touch you.”
“…right.” Hadn’t he explained it before?
Blanca didn’t get it and shot a dubious look at Matthew. At that moment, her junior sent her a text. Blanca had told her that she’d sent her the designed emotes tonight. She also remembered Peter’s invitation last night, and couldn’t help but tap on Peter’s icon.
How was she supposed to start…
Matthew waited a while and didn’t hear Blanca’s reply, so he looked over and saw her opening a conversation on her phone. “Who are you talking to?”
“Peter. He invited me last night, didn’t he? I think this is a good chance…” Blanca was wracking her brains on how to speak to Peter, and didn’t pay too much attention to Matthew’s words. By the time she reacted, she could feel the temperature in the room dropping.
Er…
She promised Matthew not to go, didn’t she?
“Remember who you are, Blanca!” Matthew took away her phone straight away.
“Hey! I’m married to you, not sold to you. What makes you think you can take my phone?”
“Yes, you do remember you’re married to me now,” Matthew chuckled, looking over the conversation. Blanca had sent Peter a friendly emote. She hadn’t even sent him one! Matthew grinned. “You’re my wife off work, so your time is mine, but don’t forget, you’re my employee at work, so your time is mine too.”
