Jean certainly looked nothing like a patient as she beamed at the jewelry set.
Noting her joy, Lynn immediately flattered her. "Ms. Sawyer, this set of jewelry looks very expensive. It must've cost a lot, right? It's from Mr. Hamilton, isn't it? It's really gorgeous!"
But she wondered why Brad didn't give the jewelry to Jean directly if he wanted to please her. Why would he place it on her bed instead? Wouldn't Jean be more delighted if he gave it to her in person?
An overwhelming sense of jealousy prickled at Lynn. She envied Jean for having such a great man.
Holding the jewelry up in front of the mirror, Jean bubbled with joy. "What do you know? This is what romance is like!
"Brad is terrible at romance. He usually has Cameron deliver things to me. So, putting the gift on my bed is already the most romantic gesture he could ever perform. Stop being so dubious!
"This set of jewelry is a non-sellable piece from Hamilton Jewels. It's extremely expensive. You can't get your hands on it no matter how many pieces you buy."
As a woman, Jean noticed Lynn's jealousy, but she still needed Lynn's help, so she couldn't be bothered with her for now.
All she wanted was Brad. If Lynn could help her win him over, she'd turn a blind eye to her little tricks.
"Lynn, help me put this on and take some photos. I want to see how it looks on me."
Lynn still depended on Jean for her wages, after all. Of course, she wouldn't reject such small requests. Not only did she take some splendid photos of Jean, but she also highlighted the magnificence of the jewelry.
Jean was overjoyed, to say the least. She returned to her bedside and pulled a wad of cash from her latest designer bag.
Placing the cash in front of Lynn, she said, "The photos are great. Take this money and buy yourself some new outfits.
