Jasper would be downright embarrassed if Scott persisted!
"No, it was nothing. Everything happened naturally. I didn't do anything on purpose. Everything just progressed step by step until now."
Scott turned and placed the glass on the bar. He said, "It was tough on Clara."
"Uh…" Jasper was speechless. Though, thinking back on those days, Scott was right.
Jasper did not do anything deliberately, but Clara had done a lot for him. Though little, they were many. They might seem insignificant, but they were important.
Clara had indeed sacrificed more than he did.
"Clara is great, yes," replied Jasper solemnly. "I'm…terrible."
"You're great too. Just continue on this way."
Jasper was stunned as a strange thought came to him. Why did it seem like Scott was…envious? Was he, really?
To Jasper, Scott was an exceptional man capable of anything. He could solve any problems he had, no matter how tough the problem was. Why would a person like that be envious of him?
Jasper was sure he was imagining things.
"Okay. Call me if you need anything, anytime."
Jasper came to his senses. "Okay. You too, Scott. Although, I… I don't really know this stuff well, I hope it helps you."
"Hm. It will."
Jasper was a little awkward. Regarding relationships, he would prefer not to talk about relationship matters if he could.
