Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 20

The next morning, Hayden carefully put away the lottery tickets and got ready to go out.

He had stayed up late the night before, as his excitement had kept him awake for hours.

After breakfast, Hayden and Jenny headed to school together. On the way, they suddenly heard the sound of cheers.

They turned toward the sound. It was coming from the lottery store they visited yesterday. A large crowd of lottery players was gathered there, chatting energetically.

The scene caught the attention of many passersby, who joined in to watch.

"Did you hear? Someone won 100 million dollars with yesterday's lottery right here!"

"This is unbelievable! That combination is so odd. I think it's all rigged by the officials!"

"Come on. If it's really like you said, why would they even let a local store win?"

The discussions grew more intense, filled with suspicion and excitement.

Meanwhile, Connor listened in silence. His face showed nothing but excitement.

After getting the news last night, he received confirmation from the lottery headquarters.

With such an odd set of numbers, he naturally thought of the student from yesterday.

But he kept quiet, fearing that the boy might be targeted. Holding that much money at such a young age could easily attract trouble.

Maybe that kid just bought it on a whim and didn't even remember.

"Everyone, come in and buy your tickets! Maybe you'll get some luck too!" Connor called out.

The crowd surged in, making the place even busier.

"Hayden, did you win anything with your ticket?" Jenny asked as she leaned closer.

"Yeah," Hayden replied with a nod.

"How much did you win? Can I get a soda at lunch?" Jenny beamed. She assumed that Hayden had just won a small amount.

"Sure. I'll buy you one at lunch. But you should still drink less of it. It's not good for your health," Hayden agreed, though he gently advised her against it.

In his past life, he had seen plenty of news reports about sodas. Many of them revealed that these drinks were filled with all sorts of artificial ingredients. Most workers at those stores wouldn't even drink them themselves.
