Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 29

Both James and Serena were surprised. They turned to Hayden.

"The lottery? You're fond of that? This scoundrel must have influenced you!" Serena shot James a glare, somewhat displeased.

There was a time when James was obsessed with the lottery. He bought tons of lottery tickets back then, but he had never won a grand prize.

Fortunately, James eventually noticed the downsides and stopped buying them. Nonetheless, Hayden used to follow James when the latter frequented lottery ticket retailers.

"I was just having a bit of fun." James smiled sheepishly, evading Serena's gaze.

Back then, he spent several dollars each time he bought lottery tickets. They practically went down the drain. In total, he wasted about five hundred dollars on lottery tickets, then he cut his losses and stopped playing.

"Hayden, you should be focusing on your studies right now. Do you understand?" James looked at Hayden patiently.

"That's right. Winning a grand prize in a lottery is not easy. In the end, you should still rely on practical skills, knowledge, and hard work," Serena advised Hayden as well, afraid that he would go astray.

"Okay. This is the last time. I won't buy any lottery tickets again." Hayden gave a wry grin and shook his head.

"How much money did you win? When you've spent all of it, ask me for more, alright?" Serena said gently.

"I won't be able to spend it all for a while. I won the first prize with ten bets and received 80 million dollars. I spent 70 million dollars today, so there's still ten million dollars left." Hayden made a rough calculation and told them the truth.

The room fell silent at his words. James and Serena were flabbergasted as they stared at Hayden. They thought they'd misheard.
