"Consider how much money you think his life is worth first, then we can talk."

Hayden moved to leave with a calm expression. It was as if he was talking about something perfectly normal and trivial.

"You. Do you have nothing in your head besides money?" Anna scolded.

"Oh? You don't want to talk about money? Wait for Morgan's information to be uncovered, then. You'll only lose a bit of money after all." Hayden shrugged, looking unconcerned.

With that, he turned to leave without any hesitation.

Anna was once again taken aback. Her expression changed dramatically.

"Stop right there!" she spat out through gritted teeth. It was clear that she didn't want to do this.

"You've thought it through?" Hayden asked.

"Get in the car," Anna said coldly.

Hayden didn't hesitate any longer and got into the car with Jenny.

"Hayden, is she your relative from the Sterling family?" Jenny asked tentatively in the backseat.

"She used to be," Hayden explained.

"I'm glad she's not anymore. She's so mean. That's not how a family member should behave," Jenny muttered.

Her voice resonated through the enclosed space of the vehicle and soon entered Anna's ears.

Anna's expression grew even more upset. She had been humiliated by someone younger than her! It was bad enough that she had to deal with Hayden; now there was another.

Hayden shrugged while failing to stifle a smile. It was a gloating smile. This was, above all, what he had hoped to see.

"But you're supposed to be the heir!" Anna said seriously.

"Ms. Sterling, don't try to goad me into it. That doesn't work on me. In my eyes, everything about the Sterling family is disgusting. I'm not interested in any of that," Hayden declined, wagging his finger.

It was obvious to him that Anna only wanted him to be involved in the Sterling family's fight. However, there was no way Hayden would agree. He wanted to be an outsider and watch the Sterlings destroy one another.

In the past, he was set up by Morgan. Yet how did Anna, her sisters, and Charlotte treat him?

Hayden had long been thoroughly disappointed. His heart hardened.

"The amount I can offer is one million dollars. Help me." Anna slowly pulled out a check and presented it to Hayden solemnly. Her fervent gaze rested on him.
