Letting Morgan off just to give the chauffeur some face?
Morgan sat on the ground, drenched and humiliated as he replayed Hayden's words in his mind. His expression darkened further with every passing second. How dare Hayden speak to him like that!
"You think you've got that much pull?" Morgan spat, his cold eyes fixating on the chauffeur with a venomous glare.
The fury boiling inside him only intensified. The idea that he had been "rescued" by a chauffeur made his blood run cold.
"Mr. Morgan, please don't take it the wrong way! Mr. Hayden didn't mean anything by it!" The chauffeur's face turned even paler as he hastily lowered his head in apology, trying to ease the tension.
But Morgan's thoughts had drifted elsewhere, plotting how he would deal with the chauffeur later on. There was no way he'd let this humiliation slide so easily.
"Let's go," Morgan said coldly.
With that, the chauffeur nervously scrambled into the car and drove Morgan away.
Meanwhile, Anna, who had been watching everything from the shadows, wore a conflicted expression.
As Morgan's car disappeared down the road, she sighed, "Did Morgan really come all the way just for some petty prank? But Hayden's reaction… That was way over the top. Was he trying to kill him?"
Then, Anna let out another long sigh while shaking her head. "It's clear Hayden is consumed by hate now. This is a serious problem."
She had witnessed the entire scene and couldn't help but think that Hayden had gone too far. Sure, Morgan had been obnoxious, but to respond so violently? It wasn't necessary.
Looking down at the report she had been holding, Anna hesitated momentarily. Perhaps Hayden's anger was just too deep and too raw.
Should she step in now or wait a little more? After some thought, she decided to hold off for the time being and quietly drove away.
