“Really? What does Christopher’s fiancée have to do with me? Madelyn asked, smiling nonchalantly.
Janessa was immediately taken aback.
Then, she raised her voice immediately and said, “How can it not concern you? Christopher likes you, and you like Christopher. That’s something many people are aware of! Now that his fiancée has shown up, aren’t you afraid she might target you?”
She did that on purpose so everyone around them could hear her.
Sure enough, the people around turned to Madelyn with disdain and whispered amongst each other.
“Goodness, she’s not going to try to snatch someone else’s fiancé, will she?”
“I heard about her bad character long ago, and now it seems she really is capable of doing anything”
“It’ll be best if we limit our interactions with her in the future.”
Upon hearing those words, Madelyn was enraged.
She retorted instantly, “Oh? However, from what I see, Christopher seems to be closer to you, doesn’t he? I even thought that you were the one he was fond of.”
“What?” Janessa was clearly taken aback.
Madelyn continued her seemingly casual assault. “Isn’t it true? I see you two together all the time, acting as if you can’t live without each other. I thought you two were really close.”
“So, she’s trying to pin the blame on someone else.” The crowd immediately shifted their attention once again, casting disdainful glances toward Janessa.
Upon hearing that, Janessa panicked.
Originally, her plan was to shift the blame onto Madelyn, but it ended up backfiring
Janessa was ready to say something when someone outside shouted, “Who is Madelyn Thornton?”
Soon, the owner of the voice appeared outside the door.
Although Yvette wasn’t particularly tall, she had a stunning figure, and her face was rather delicately pretty.
At that time, she was dressed in a denim jacket and shorts with her hair styled into a bun. As such, she appeared fashionable and chic.
She stood at the doorway, hands on her hips. Using her distinctive, high–pitched voice, she asked gain, “I’m talking to you all! Who is Madelyn?”
Her fiery demeanor truly lived up to its reputation.
For a moment, everyone around fell silent, daring not to speak. All the crowd could do was silently direct

Immediately, accompanied by two lackeys, she strode over aggressively. “Which one of you two is Madelyn”
“Um…. Upon hearing that, Janessa hesitated, casting a glance at Madelyn.
Madelyn stood up, facing Yvette head–on. “I’m Madelyn What’s the matter?”
Upon seeing her audacious demeanor, Yvette was furious. “So, it’s you! Tell me, were you secretly trying to seduce my fiance behind my back?”
“Nope,” Madelyn rebutted without hesitation.
“Pah!” Suddenly, Yvette raised her voice haughtily. “Do you think it’s not true just because you said so? I only found out about this because someone else tauled it to me! If you weren’t truly seducing my fiancé, why would anyone report this to me? Christopher is taken, you hear that? His fiancée is me! I suggest you give up on him as soon as possible. Otherwise, I won’t let you off easily.”
Madelyn noticed something Yvette said. Tattle, eh?
She couldn’t help but cast a meaningful glance at Janessa. Who else could it be except for her?
In response, Janessa shuddered and backed away by a step.
Then, Madelyn sneered, “Ms. Langdon, you’ve truly misunderstood. I have absolutely no interest in your fiancé.”
“Yeah,” chimed in Janessa to stir the pot. “Ms. Langdon, you must have misunderstood Madelyn. I can vouch for it. Christopher and her are just friends.”
After hearing those explanations, Yvette scoffed with disdain. “Don’t think I’m unaware. You’re just bold enough to act but not to own up! Who would dare to admit they’re the homewrecker?”
After she finished speaking, she stared straight at Madelyn. “Don’t think that if you deny this, I’ll act as if nothing happened. I’m warning you today. If you don’t keep your distance from my fiancé, I will definitely make you understand the consequences of trying to steal my betrothed!”
Anyone could tell from Yvette’s brash tone that she was not a woman to be trifled with.
To her surprise, Madelyn actually laughed and spoke nonchalantly. “Rest assured. I’m merely an acquaintance of your fiancé. We’re far from close, and we can’t even be considered friends. Besides, I’m not one to cover what others have. Since he’s your fiancé, I’ll keep my distance. I won’t harbor any thoughts about him. Is this answer satisfactory to you?”
“L… Yvette didn’t anticipate that Madelyn would be so agreeable. Consequently, she was left with a surge of anger that she had nowhere to vent, which ironically made her feel uneasy.
“Oh, that’s right.” Madelyn suddenly seemed to remember something. “Janessa, I noticed that you’ve been spending time every day with Christopher. Could it be that people have seen you two together they’ve misunderstood your relationship?”

What the heck? Janessa’s expression changed when she heard that. Why did she suddenly mention me?
