Chapter 181 To Protect Her

“Sebastian, why are you bringing this woman along? We’re supposed to go to work. Wouldn’t she just hold us back?” Wesley, clearly dissatisfied about Madelyn’s presence, immediately approached Sebastian.
Sebastian, however, didn’t seem to mind. “It’s no big deal.”
“How could you say it’s no big deal? We’re not going there for fun, you know. It’s really dangerous.” Wesley was truly at a loss. Is this Madelyn a parasite that can’t be rid of? Does she have to follow Sebastian everywhere?
“Sebastian, maybe you should reconsider,” Harriet suggested at that moment. “Having an irrelevant person around could potentially affect our work.”
No sooner had the words been spoken than Madelyn stepped forward and linked her arm through Sebastian’s. “Who said I’m irrelevant? I can be of help too.”
Harriet scoffed disdainfully as if she had just heard a joke.
“Help? We’d be over the moon if you didn’t cause trouble for us,” Wesley uttered contemptuously.
“L..” Madelyn was desperate to say something but couldn’t find the words.
At that moment, Sebastian was fiercely protective of his wife. His expression instantly turned icy as he said nonchalantly, “If you all have so many opinions, why don’t you take the CEO’s position?”
Wesley and Harriet were suddenly rendered speechless.
“Sebastian, you know I didn’t mean it that way.” Wesley had finally calmed down considerably by now. “This trip is really dangerous. I’m disagreeing with Madelyn tagging along to protect her.”
Upon hearing that, Sebastian remained unfazed. “No need to worry. We can just leave her at the hotel when the time comes.
“All right, then.” Since Sebastian had already made such arrangements, Wesley was left with no objections.
However, his feelings toward Madelyn only soured further. She’s just problematic, always seeking to stir up
trouble.
Madelyn couldn’t care less about what others thought. All she knew was that she had to make this trip, no matter what.
Without bothering to explain, she dragged Sebastian onto the plane.
Malcolm had booked first–class cabins for everyone, so the space was quite ample.
Madelyn took the initiative and chose a spot by the window, then pulled Sebastian to sit with her.
Wesley and Harriet had also taken their seats on the other side of the corridor.
After taking her seat, Madelyn immediately wrapped her arms around Sebastian’s arm, affectionately snuggling up to him.

Naturally, Harriet saw the scene of the two nestled together. Despite her expressionless face, her heart was brimming with jealousy.
Deep down, she felt that the relationship between Sebastian and Madelyn had changed.
In the past, Harriet always remained unfazed, believing herself to be Sebastjan’s only trustworthy wide
Before, they were in perfect harmony at work, so much so that outsiders even regarded them as a lovely couple in the business world.
Moreover, some even went as far as fabricating gossip about the two to spread rumors.
Back then, Harriet always felt that she held some significance, however big or small, in Sebastian’s heart
Still, she wasn’t in a hurry to clarify anything since Sebastian never initiated the conversatio
But now, Harriet no longer felt this way.
A sense of crisis was becoming increasingly apparent in Harriet’s heart. She felt that her place had been subtly and silently usurped by Madelyn.
Two hours later, the airplane touched down in Rodunst.
Malcolm planned everything out in advance. As soon as they touched down, he contacted the arranged driver immediately.
Then, the driver transported everyone to the most luxurious five–star hotel in the area
Upon arriving at the hotel reception, the group first proceeded to check in.
“Greetings, everyone. What kind of room would you like?” the receptionist asked in fluent Uprian
Sebastian replied in Uprian, “Get me an exclusive luxury single room. The others can choose for themselves.”
“Okay.” The receptionist nodded politely.
Subsequently, a luxurious private room was arranged for Sebastian and Madelyn.
Upon receiving the room card, Sebastian unsurprisingly led Madelyn upstairs.
Watching the two figures recede, Wesley sighed while Harriet struggled to contain her envy.
Following that, the two of them separately arranged for their rooms and settled in.
After setting down the luggage inside the room, Sebastian settled Madelyn in, reminding her. “Some of the top executives from this branch will be coming over in a bit. We have a meeting tonight, which might run late. You should rest in the room for now.
Madelyn obediently nodded her head.
In just a short while, Sebastian went off to his meeting, leaving Madelyn to rest in the room alone.
