Chapter 191 He Is Mine
As Wesley spoke, he intentionally clicked his tongue.
Madelyn immediately furrowed her lows. I was there, so I knew exactly what happened. He must have said so just to stir up trouble
At that, Madelyn immediately expressed her disdain. “Wesley, what do you mean by that? Are you trying to tell me that Sebastian cares more about Harriet?”
“Isn’t that so?” Wesley scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcaun.
Madelyn rolled her eyes in annoyance as if she had heard a ridiculous joke. She sneered, “Listen, Wesley Gilbert. I know they’re the best partners at work, but that’s all there is to their relationship. The only person Sebastian loves is me, and I’ll always be the love of his life! If not, with all the chances she’s had over the years, Harriet would have won Sebastian over a long time ago.”
Madelyn spoke firmly.
She had let Sebastian down in her past life. Now that she was given an opportunity to start all over, she wouldn’t allow anyone to snatch Sebastian away from her.
“Oh, really? I think you’re just living in denial,” Wesley sneered disdainfully. “Take a good look at yourself. Madelyn. What makes you think you’re better than Harriet? She’s beautiful and intelligent, and she’s been Sebastian’s most reliable assistant for years. And you? You’re nothing! You’ve been acting all high and mighty because of your status, but what have you accomplished? Sebastian might have liked you in the past. but do you think, with the way you act now, he still has feelings for you? Of course, he’ll choose a kind and gentle woman, not someone as brash and unreasonable as you!”
Wesley had always spoken ill of Madelyn behind her back in the past, but this time, he was so frustrated that he decided to vent all his pent–up frustrations at once.
Those remarks were hurtful, hitting Madelyn right in the heart.
Yet, on second thought, she found what he said to be absurd. Glaring at Wesley, she said. “Yes, you’re right. I’m not as accomplished as Harriet in many ways. But I’m not as worthless as you make me out to be Mr. Gilbert, you’ve been constantly picking on me all this while. I’ve let it slide because you’re Sebastian’s best friend, but don’t you find yourself pathetic?”
“Stop spouting nonsense! Why would you say I’m pathetic?” Wesley snapped, his tone a mix of annoyance and embarrassment.
“Oh, come on,” Madelyn scoffed disdainfully, “Even I pity you. You obviously have feelings for Harriet, yet you chose to play Cupid, trying to set her up with Sebastian. Trying to play a matchmaker between Harriet and Sebastian? That’s the most insincere way to show your affection for her!”
Those words felt like a thousand needles stabbing Wesley’s heart.
The color instantly drained out of Wesley’s face. I’ve never revealed my feelings for Hai earth did this woman know so much?
to anyone. How on
At that moment, Madelyn continued with her icy scorn. “Wesley, let me get this straight. Sebastian is
and will always be my man, and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him by my side! Anyone who tries to snatch him

Chapter 191 He Is Muje
Fmuhed
Like a queen defending her territory, she was resolute in protecting Sebastian, the man she cared about, and she vowed never to bow down to anyone.
Wesley’s jaw dropped when she made that remark.
In the past, he had always regarded Madelyn as a spoiled and arrogant good–for–nothing. Apart from her knack for capturing Sebastian’s heart with her willfulness and temper, she seemed useless in every other aspect. Since when did she start radiating such a domineering aura?
Madelyn, however, was no longer willing to entertain Wesley. She decided to cut to the chase and dismiss him. “If there’s nothing else you wish to say. Mr. Gilbert, you should head home and rest early. Goodbye
After speaking, Madelyn returned to her room, unapologetically closing the door behind her
Wesley was completely stunned, speechless for a moment. Unbelievable!
Upon returning to her room, Madelyn let out a long sigh.
She turned away, walking to the edge of the bed. There, she gazed intently at Sebastian’s serene sleeping face, releasing another deep sigh. Being an outstanding man isn’t always a good thing is it? It just tends to draw wwwanted attention from people who aren’t easy to deal with.
Sebastian had no idea what was on Madelyn’s mind; he was simply too exhausted. By the time she returned to the room, he had fallen into a deep slumber.
While Madelyn was deeply asleep in the middle of the night, she suddenly felt Sebastian was as hot as a branding iron. The intense heat was so unbearable that it jolted her awake.
After reaching out to touch Sebastian’s forehead, Madelyn was taken aback for a moment. He’s running a high fever again.
Sebastian’s gunshot wound still festered, worsened now by a raging fever that engulfed him in discomfort He lay there as if consumed by flames, his forehead slick with sweat, his breathing labored.
Deeply concerned, Madelyn urgently called Malcolm, directing him to summon a doctor without delay.
Before long, the doctor arrived.
He first administered an antipyretic injection to Sebastian, followed by antipyretic medicine to ease his distress. In the meantime, Madelyn kept a cool, damp towel pressed to his forehead, replacing it with care throughout the restless night.
As dawn broke on the second day, Sebastian’s fever had finally subsided entirely.
At that moment, Madelyn was utterly exhausted. She couldn’t even make it back to the bed; instead, she collapsed at its edge and immediately drifted into sleep.
Two hours later, Sebastian slowly opened his eyes.
He saw Madelyn asleep at the bedside, her delicate hand still be a damp towel
A tender warmth filled Sebastian’s eyes. Quietly, he slipped out of bed and stood beside her.
