Chapter 25 Doing Chores For Him

After finishing lunch, Madelyn bid farewell to Vadiel, then promptly retomed to Lockhart Ville

As soon as she stepped through the door. Elis eurimy sked. Mr Lockhart, its almost midnight. Why hasn’t Mr. Lorkhan returned yet? The food in the kitchen is ready and it’s getting cold.

Madelyn nodded, then turned to Lydia. “All right. Let me ask him.”

Following that she made a call to Sebastian

At that moment. Sebastian was conducting a rather significant meeting in Lockhart Group’s conference

On stage. Sebastian exuded an irresistible charm. He spoke with such carnestness that those in the audience couldn’t help but listen with rapt attention.

Just then, Sebastian’s phone screen suddenly lit up,

Madelyn’s name appeared on the display of the incoming call.

Once the call connected, Madelyn’s playful voice could be heard from the other end. “Hey, Darling, have you had your meal yet? Do you want to come home for lunch?”

Sebastian silently turned the volume down to its lowest, his voice cold as he said, “I won’t be back. There’s

meeting today. It’ll probably run late. You should eat first.”

Madelyn let out a sigh, her voice laced with a sense of loss. Then, all of a sudden, she perked up again. “How about I go find you?”

Sebastian’s demeanor remained icy as he said, “No need.”

Unexpectedly, Madelyn acted coy, saying, “I don’t care. You just wait for me!”

After saying that, she hung up the phone on her own accord.

Following that, Madelyn dashed into the kitchen and began rummaging through the refrigerator.

Upon seeing her in such a state, Lydia assumed she was hungry. She followed behind Madelyn and asked, “Are you hungry, Mrs. Lockhart? Shall I warm up some food for you?”

However, Madelyn replied, “I’m not hungry. I just want to personally make a packed lunch for Sebastian.”

“Packed lunch?” Lydia pondered for a moment, then suddenly froze in shock. She quickly stepped forward to dissuade, “Mrs. Lockhart, perhaps it’s best if you drop the idea. Just let me prepare the packed lunch. You’ve never done household chores, so how could you possibly handle this?”

The crux of the matter was that cooking required the use of a knife. If Madelyn were accidentally injured. Lydia wouldn’t know how to explain herself for allowing that to happen.

After speaking. Madelyn proceeded to take out the eggs, beef, and other ingredients from the refrigerator. Then, one by one, she began to wash, cut, and put the ingredients into the frying pan.

Her movements were precise and efficient, just like a diligent and virtuous young wife.

Surprisingly. Mrs. Lockhart, who is usually all talk, can actually cook. Lydia was surprised and also a little curious. “Mrs. Lockhart, who did you learn all this from?”

Lydia was also taken aback and hurriedly asked, “Mrs. Lockhart, are you all right?”

Madelyn, however, simply shook her head. “I’m fine. Just help me flip the steak.”

Lydia felt guilty. “I’m so sorry, Mrs. Lockhart. I shouldn’t have let you do it yourself.”

Even though Madelyn had been scalded, her mood remained quite cheerful. She waved her hand dismissively. “It’s no big deal. It’s just a blister. A little ointment will fix it.”

Lydia promptly fetched the first–aid kit and gently helped Madelyn apply the ointment.

While applying the ointment, Lydia sighed. “Mrs. Lockhart, you’ve truly worked hard for Mr. Lockhart’s sake.

Madelyn, however, was all smiles. “I’m fine. As long as the packed lunch is perfect, I don’t mind getting at couple more blisters.”

Upon hearing those words, Lydia offered a knowing smile.

Afthe medicine was applied, Madelyn didn’t delay. Carrying the packed lunch, she cheerfully set off to deliver food to Sebastian.

She was

pleasantly lost in her thoughts, reminiscing about how the wives in the TV dramas would always thoughtfully prepare packed lunches filled with love for their husbands. I wonder how Sebastian will react when he sees me doing this.

After much difficulty, Madelyn finally arrived at Lockhart Group and headed straight for the office.

Sebastian’s assistant, Malcolm, had just stepped out when he saw Madelyn. He was slightly taken aback. “Mrs. Lockhart? What brings you here?”

“Where is Sebastian?” Madelyn asked.

“Mr. Lockhart is still in a meeting. It’s a crucial one, and it has already been going on for two hours.” After at moment of thought, Malcolm continued, “Perhaps you should wait for him in the office, Mrs. Lockhart. It shouldn’t take too long.”

Madelyn gladly nodded. “Sure. I’ll wait for him.”

Surprisingly, Madelyn ended up waiting for three hour

By the time the sun began to set, Madelyn was lying on the sofa, having fallen asleep from the long wait.

Sebastian was engrossed in the crucial meeting. It involved a plethora of details and, as such, significant amount of time.

It wasn’t until ten in the evening that the meeting finally came to an end. Even Sebastian, who was usually strong and fit, felt somewhat worn out and achy.
