“I don’t know.” The butler shook his head, thinking to himself that he wouldn’t dare to pry.
Madelyn let out a sigh of relief. “All right, then. He must have something urgent to attend to. Let’s eat first.”
Following that, Derek and Madelyn began to eat.
After finishing their meal, Madelyn took care of Derek, getting him settled into bed. She then instructed the housekeepers to watch over hins attentively before she headed home herself.
Although Madelyn didn’t show it, in reality, she was constantly thinking about Sebastian.
Normally, he wouldn’t usually leave without saying goodbye unless something had happened.
Upon arriving home, Madelyn did not see Sebastian as expected. Only after inquiring with Lydia did she learn that he had not returned home at all. How odd. Could he have stayed late at the office to work overtime!
With that in mind, Madelyn pulled out her phone and dialed Sebastian’s number. However, after a series of continuous beeps, the call was abruptly disconnected.
Sebastian didn’t answer her call.
“Is he still busy?” Madelyn mumbled to herself as she stared at her phone. “I’ll just send him a message!”
Madelyn then sent a message to Sebastian that read: Come home early.
Reading the message, Madelyn inexplicably felt a sense of being a housewife, her face instantly breaking into a sweet smile.
Without further disturbing Sebastian, she noticed the late hour and decided to go freshen up and sleep.
Meanwhile, Sebastian and Wesley were seated at the bar on the second floor of a club. The table was cluttered with no less than ten bottles of wine. In addition to that, numerous empty bottles had already been scattered across the table.
Evidently, both of them had quite a bit to drink.
Despite everything. Sebastian remained unfazed, showing no signs of intoxication
Even amidst the chaotic lights and blaring music of the club, Wesley could feel an intense, stilling pressure emanating from Sebastian. It was so potent that it left him struggling to breathe.
At that moment, the phone on the table began to ring.
Sebastian glanced over and saw that it was a call from Madelyn. The phone screen showed: Lyn.
Every time he received a call from Madelyn in the past, Sebastian would experience an indescribable feeling. It was as if there was a subtle excitement and a hint of sweetness that was hard to detect…
However, at that moment, as he watched this notification sway for over a minute, Sebastian simply didn’t feel like answering the phone.

Observing the scene, Wesley couldn’t help but laugh. “Just by looking at you, I can tell that girl must have upset you again. What is it this time? Is she entangled with a male friend? Could it be that she still has lingering feelings for Christopher?”
Wesley’s tone was full of teasing. When Sebastian’s thoughts were laid bare, his expression instantly became even more unpleasant.
“Hahal Sebastian, as your buddy. I’m at a loss for words, Wesley said, his laughter tinged with a hint of helplessness. “I told you before, no? That woman is never going to change easily. You didn’t trust my words. Instead, you chose to believe her lies, like a moth drawn to a flame. Now you see your mistake, don’t you?”
Upon hearing these words, Sebastian felt despondent, unsure of what to say or how to respond.
Deciding not to dwell on those thoughts anymore, Sebastian casually remarked, “Hasn’t Harriet always wanted to return? Call her back. There are some things here that need her attention.”
Upon hearing this, Wesley instantly became excited. Sebastian is finally willing to let Harriet return! This is truly wonderful!
With that in mind. Wesley could hardly hide the excitement on his face. He immediately agreed, saying, “Okay! I’ll call her back right now!”
As he spoke, Wesley couldn’t wait to pick up his phone. He immediately sent a message to Harriet, who was far away overseas. The text read: Harriet, Sebastian has given you permission to return home. Hurry back!
After sending the message, Wesley even attached a grinning emoji, clearly showing just how excited he was.
Following that, Wesley contentedly pocketed his phone, preparing to continue his drink, when suddenly, a commotion erupted from downstairs.
Looking toward the source of the commotion, they saw Christopher caught in a boisterous display. He was cradling a woman in his arms, hurling insults at a group of people seated at another table, his tone brazen and defiant amidst the crowd.
“Do you even know who I am? I’m the son of the Gale family! How dare you try to steal my woman? Do you have the nerves of steel?” Christopher uttered, holding the pitiful woman in his arms even tighter.
However, the woman was resisting, pushing him away while pleading for help from the group of men. “Help me! I don’t know him! I’m not selling myself. I’m just here for a good time…“
Seeing a beautiful woman in distress, those men couldn’t possibly refrain from lending a hand.
One man immediately stepped forward and declared, “I don’t care if you’re the son of the Gale family. Bullying a woman is simply wrong. Moreover, this lady has already stated she doesn’t know you, and she’s not for sale. Forcing her against her will is your wrongdoing!”
“So what?” Christopher still laughed wildly. “Let me tell you something. I am loaded with money. This woman, if she follows me, will enjoy endless wealth and luxury. What’s there not to like? Come, gorgeous one. Let’s go. I’ll take you to stay in a top–tier presidential suite!”
