Tit, ist, she’s such a fool.

Kieran watched coldly from the sidelines. Not only was he not concerned for her well–being, but he also found her foolishness rather amusing.
Given the circumstances, he decided to simply sit back and reap the benefits of the situation.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Hayden was almost ready to be discharged after resting there for a few days.
Once his family had completed the discharge procedures, they began to make arrangements for his return home.
Before that, Janessa was still at the hospital, discussing matters with him.
“Now, I’ve been stripped of my military rank and my hand is pretty much crippled. I’m just an ordinary soldier, Janessa. Do you still find me attractive?” Hayden asked, lying pale–faced on the hospital bed.
The abduction of Madelyn had cost him dearly. Not only had he completely lost his standing in military, but he had also lost the affection of his family, along with his left arm.

He remembered how Janessa approached him back then. It was his irresistible charisma that led her to taking the initiative to get closer.
But now, Hayden couldn’t help but doubt himself.
Upon hearing these words, Janessa couldn’t help but curse inwardly.
Hayden, you’ve got some nerve. From the start, you never had much charm, I was only using you for my own benefit. Did you actually think that I like you? Ha, you’re not even close to being worthy!
Of course, Janessa didn’t voice those thoughts. On the surface, she still maintained the facade of a smitten admirer.
“Hayden, there’s no need to worry. What I’ve always been attracted to isn’t your military rank, but the inherent allure of who you are as a person. No matter how you may change, I’ll always admire you.”
“I’m glad to hear that,” Hayden said, letting out a sigh of relief after hearing those words.
Next, Janessa spoke again with a charming tone. “But Hayden, don’t you want to seek revenge after being. bullied this way? Even I feel indignant on your behalf. Had it not been for that despicable Madelyn, you would still be a high and mighty commander, someone that people can’t help but admire. But now….
As she spoke, Janessa bit her lip, keeping her gaze low, unable to meet Hayden’s eyes. Her silence spoke volumes.
As expected, when Hayden was provoked, he lashed out, “I hate her! Of course I hate that despicable woman! From the moment I first encountered her, my luck took a nosedive, and unfortunate events started to pile up one after the other. Worse still, this wretched woman managed to destroy everything I took pride in, reducing me to a state of utter worthlessness. How could I not hate her?”
Upon hearing these words, Janessa too, displayed considerable indignation. “Indeed, Hayden,” she said, her voice laced with empathy, “I can totally understand how you must be feeling. If it were me, I would

fetched! So, Hayden, don’t you want to do something to get back at that b*tch?”
Once she finished speaking. Janessa deliberately observed Hayden’s expression.
Hayden was visibly furious. “Of course I want to! I want that woman dead. I can’t stand the mere thought of her existencel”
When he said those words, Hayden grimaced with rage If Madelyn were to be in front of him, he would have strangled her on the spot.
In fact, even that was far from enough for him.
Hayden would devise a hundred ways to torment her, ruthlessly humiliating Madelyn before letting her die in despair.
Only by doing so could he soothe the frustration within him.
However, reality was just the opposite.
After what happened, Hayden realized that messing with Madelyn wasn’t as easy as he thought. The extent of the forces backing her was unknown to him. If he were to take action again, he might end up in an even worse situation than his current one.
To put it bluntly, he might even lose his life.
Thinking of this, Hayden could only hang his head helplessly, his expression reflecting his sense of powerlessness. “But what good does it do for me to hate her? Madelyn’s patron is extraordinarily powerful. I truly do despise her, but I don’t have any means to teach her a lesson. Can you understand how painful this feeling is?”
Upon hearing these words, Janessa couldn’t help but furrow her brows.
In truth, she had already noticed this peculiarity. Every time she schemed against Madelyn, someone would always emerge to protect the latter, leaving her to face the repercussions of her own actions.
However, from what she knew, Madelyn didn’t have any influential patron at all. So, who exactly is helping her behind the scenes all this time?
Holding this thought, Janessa couldn’t help but squint her eyes.
Yet, she implored. “Hayden, let’s not rush into this. We need to plan carefully. I believe there will always be. a chance for us to seek vengeance. In the meantime, why don’t you focus on recuperating, okay?”
Hayden nodded. It seemed there was no other choice at the moment.
Following that, Hayden left the hospital with his family
Janessa then took a taxi back to the upscale mansion district where her aunt lived.
At that moment, Janessa’s aunt, Rachel, was engrossed in a newspaper, her expression inexplicably somber.
“Aunt Rachel, I’m back,” Janessa greeted upon her return.
Rachel gave a slight nod, not saying a word.
