She almost tripped over after running a few steps in her high heels. So, she simply took them off and went straight to Mikayla's room while holding her high heels.
She had no hope of catching up with Carlos. 'As long as he hadn't taken Mikayla away yet!' she thought.
Juliet ran out of breath. When she stood in Mikayla's bedroom, she saw Carlos standing in the room and looking at Mikayla's breathtakingly beautiful face with satisfaction. He took a deep breath and walked over.
Mikayla sat on the big bed with her long dress covering the whole bed, looking at Carlos who was holding roses.
She thought, 'There are so many people outside. Besides, with Juliet around, it's supposed to take a while. I didn't expect him to come up so soon.'
It was the first time she had seen Carlos wearing such a pure white outfit. Carlos' complexion was rather tan, and his skin color was hard to complement with a color like white. Nonetheless, the outcome proved that he could look good in all kinds of colors, and white accentuated his inherent nobility and elegance, which made people unconsciously attracted to him.
He just walked up to her one step at a time.
For some reason, her heartbeat began to accelerate as if it was about to jump out of her chest. She couldn't control it at all.
She began to get nervous and overwhelmed, not knowing what she have to do next and had no idea what would happen subsequently.
Everything seemed to be an uncertainty to her.
Carlos stopped when he was one step away from her.
The pink and white flowers in his hand seemed to change into various charming colors.
He suddenly got down on one knee. "Mika, marry me!"
She watched Carlos present the roses to her.
Mikayla bit her pink lips and looked even more attractive with her pity look, which made one want to kiss her.
She stretched out her hand and was about to accept it.
"Wait!" Juliet, who was standing at the door, rushed over. As she spoke, she kept gasping for breath.
Mikayla looked up at her in puzzlement.
Juliet threw away the high heels in her hand and walked over, panting. She scolded, "Carlos, are you a leopard? How could you run so fast! I'm exhausted."
'Damn! I couldn't even breathe now,' she complained in her mind.
Carlos smiled lightly.
"It's impossible for you to marry Mikayla so easily!" Juliet took a deep breath and calmed herself down.
"What?" Carlos asked.
"So..." Juliet smirked.
Mikayla was worried. Every time Juliet made fun of people, she would show the same expression. It seemed that Carlos could not escape from it.
Just then, the group of people who had snatched the monetary gift earlier at the door also poured in.
