Reckless Marriage Unyielding Love novel Chapter 149

Kashton watched Elvis on the surveillance footage, then spun around and hurried off, his steps quick and urgent.

"Kashton, where are you going?" Xavier shouted.

Kashton glanced back at the clueless guy. "Let's get out of here, pronto! Elvis is on a rampage. You wanna stick around for a beating?"

Xavier was speechless. He redirected his gaze back to the monitor, only to see Elvis's face fill the screen.

The screen wobbled a bit, then whooshed into a straight line, and broke down with a pop.

"Ah! Hold up, Kashton!" Xavier yelled before he bolted out the door after him.

In the couple's private room, after everything had settled down, Juliet shouted at Elvis.

"I'll take the blame!" Elvis said without turning his head.

"Damn, Elvis, what are you gonna take responsibility with?" she said, thinking about her pretty face.

Elvis tossed the mini camera to the floor and smashed it with his black crocodile-skin shoes.

"Isn't plastic surgery all the rage now? How much will it cost? I'll cover it!" Elvis said, his voice cold and heavy.

"Elvis, you're out of your mind! Do I look like I need money?" Juliet was really not in the mood to deal with him, and with a kick of her high heels, she lay down on the sofa.

'Damn it! Can't go out. Can't play with the phone. No entertainment at all. Might as well just sleep,' Juliet thought.

After a moment, she got up and took a small whip from the wall.

Standing on the sofa, she raised the small whip in her hand and warned Elvis, "Don't touch me! Otherwise, I'll make you regret it!" After saying that, she cracked the whip in the air, just like a queen declaring war.

Elvis narrowed his eyes, sat at the end of the other sofa, leaned back, and crossed his arms over his chest.

Seeing his reaction, Juliet laid down on the couch too, which was just the right size for a comfy snooze.

After all the ruckus, Juliet found the sofa cozy and the AC just right for a nap. In no time, she was out like a light.

Elvis, used to a life on edge, was a light sleeper. Hearing the whip drop from Juliet's hand, he opened his eyes and glanced at the woman sprawled out, sleeping without a care in the world.

Her mouth was slightly open, a soft snore escaping, one hand on her belly, the other hand and a foot dangling off the couch.

'Seriously? This woman can sleep like a log no matter where she is!' Elvis thought.

Elvis closed his eyes, trying to drift back to sleep, but found his mind's eye filled with the image of a woman.

For the first time in thirty-two years, a woman other than that lady had invaded his thoughts, and it was none other than the woman sleeping at the other end of the couch.

This stirred something in Elvis, a feeling that made him deeply uneasy. He forced himself to try to sleep.

Juliet had fallen into a deep sleep, lost in a beautiful dream.

In her dream, Brantley was presenting her with roses, confessing that his heart had been hers from the start. Under the watchful eyes of a crowd, he proposed to her!

She took the roses from his hand shyly.

Before she could even nod, there was a loud thud as she tumbled to the floor. Though a rug cushioned her fall, she hit the sharp edge of a glass coffee table, wincing in pain.

Rubbing her arm, Juliet stood up and looked around. Elvis was really out cold!

She'd made such a racket falling, and he hadn't stirred at all!

Darn it!

Yawning, Juliet lay back down on the couch to continue her sleep!
