Juliet took a sip of the mango milkshake to calm herself down. Otherwise, she wouldn't have managed to resist the urge to come up with an excuse and escape again.
She kept reminding herself that she would have to face it sooner or later.
Juliet said, "What is it? I am listening."
Brantley said, "The mayor wants to set me up with his daughter."
As soon as Brantley finished his words, the spoon in Juliet's hand suddenly fell and banged on the bowl with a clear sound.
Juliet wanted to force a smile but she realized that all her effort was in vain. She lowered her head and said flatly. "Okay."
Her mind was blank. If she hadn't sat on the chair, she would have fallen to the ground.
Eventually, she had to deal with it.
Brantley observed Juliet's every movement. "Don't you want to ask what I think about it?"
Juliet suddenly raised her head and grinned, "Sienna is a better choice for you! Although I don't do any harm to your work, I am of no use to you either! But she's different. Her father is the mayor. It will greatly help your career. "
Brantley's eyes darkened. "Is this what you think of me?"
Juliet looked at Brantley in confusion. "Isn't it what you're thinking about?"
Brantley knew Juliet wouldn't think too much about anything. "Who told you? Your best friend, Mikayla?"
Juliet didn't deny it. "Mikayla is worried about me. She's afraid that I will get carried away."
Brantley asked, "What if I tell you that I have refused the mayor?"
Juliet said, "Really?"
Brantley nodded.
Juliet smiled brightly. She stood up and kissed Brantley's pink lips across the table.
Juliet asked, "Why didn't you tell me earlier? I've been worried about it for so long!"
Being hugged by Juliet, Brantley looked around. Juliet's excited voice had drawn many people's attention.
Brantley patted Juliet's hand to ask her to let go of him. "Juliet."
Juliet was so happy that she had already gotten carried away. She came to her senses and sat back in her seat. She looked around, pointing at Brantley, and explained, "He is my boyfriend! Aren't we a perfect match?"
Several young girls at the tables next to them nodded in response.
Someone said, "A perfect match, it is!"
Juliet was overjoyed. "Best wishes to you!"
Turning around, she looked at Brantley and asked, "Brantley, did you refuse Sienna because of me?"
She thought, 'Fortunately, I listened to what Mikayla said to me and didn't pick up on Sienna.'
Brantley took a sip of coffee. "What do you think?"
Juliet was very happy deep inside.
Brantley asked tentatively, "Did your best friend tell you that I would choose Sienna?"
Juliet said, "No, she just analyzed the situation for me. She said you might pick her! Mikayla was just caring about me."
When people were in a good mood, they usually had a good appetite too. So Juliet replied to Brantley as she ate the food.
