‘Oh, myf Carles had a crush on me when we were kids. I didn’t realize I was that charming! Mikayla thought. She was quite amused. 

‘But Carlos was only 13 then, and I was just five. He was too young to have his first crush, she thought again. 

“Well… I’m done here! Lorenzo packed up the medicine. He didn’t want to disturb the lovebirds, but he still had to perform his duty as a doctor. Only then did Carlos snap out of his memories. He stood up and took the medicine from Lorenzo. 

“The wound on her hand is fine, but you need to watch her ankle injury. This drug is taken three times a day after meals. She might have a fever tonight, so keep an eye on her. If she does, stay by her side and give her one of these antipyretics Lorenzo explained carefully, pointing to the medicine. “This one is for external use. Apply a hot compress on her ankle every day. I want to see Ms. Salvatore in three days for a check–up.” 

“You can leave now! Carlos nudged Lorenzo, trying to usher him out. Mikayla could see they were on good terms. 

“Waitt I haven’t finished yet!” Lorenzo took the medical kit and said, “Is your wedding next week?” 

At the mention of the wedding. Mikayla and Carlos exchanged glances. Mikayla then nodded to Lorenzo. 

“I guess your wedding will need to be postponed. Her feet will take at least half a month to recover. Lorenzo glanced at Mikayla’s feet. 

“Hurry up and get out!” Carlos said, ushering Lorenzo out and following him. 

“Carlos! Why can’t you let me finish?” Lorenzo complained. 

“You’re a surprise! I never expected you to start your puppy love at such a young age While walking, Lorenzo teased Carlos about what he had just heard. 

“Well, I can’t compete with your love affairs. Carlos raised his eyebrows. 

Lorenzo glanced back, afraid that others might hear about his past. Otherwise, he would feel embarrassed 

“See you!” Lorenzo took the medical kit and walked to the elevator with Josiah. Carlos also went back to the suite. 

Looking at Mikayla on the bed, Carlos asked, “Are you feeling better?” 

“Yes!” Mikayla looked at Carlos, who had just returned. It was the first time they had been in the same enclosed space at such a late hour. “Do you wan 

want to have something to cat!” Carlos asked. 

Mikayla shook her head. She had no appetite. 

Carlos walked over. “You shouldn’t touch your wound with water. If you need to clean yourself, I’ll ask the hotel customer service to come in After that incident, Mikayla did feel uncomfortable and wanted to wash herself. She said, “Okay!” 

Upon hearing Mikayla’s agreement, Carlos called the front desk from the room’s landline and requested the assistance of female customer service. He then left briefly and returned with two seemingly nimble staff. 

“Have a good rest! I’ll be in the living room outside. If you need anything at night, call me!” Then Carlos closed the door gently. 

After half an hour, Mikayla finished wiping herself, and the two customer service staff left. She put on the new bathrobe and felt a little refreshed. Although she really wanted to take her bath, her hands and feet were injured now Wiping herself was better than not. 

After a restless night, exhaustion finally caught up with Mikayla. She fell asleep in bed in two minutes. Carlos couldn’t sleep that night because of Lorenzo’s words. He first went in to massage Mikayla’s feet, then checked on her from time to time. As Lorenzo had predicted, Mikayla developed a high fever at dawn 

Carlos helped her up and gave her an antipyretic, but she didn’t wake up. She appeared to be dreaming. At first, she smiled, but then she tightly grasped the quilt with both hands. Her face turned pale as she continued to shake her head, murmuring, “No, no…” 

Carlos lay beside her, gently holding her hands. His heart ached as he watched her distressed state, Rather than waking her up, he whispered softly to comfort her, “Fear not. I’m here… 

Mikayla woke up at midday the next day. She felt refreshed after sleeping well. She didn’t remember anything about having a fever last night. Fortunately, it was the weekend, so she didn’t have to go to work. She was just a little hungry. 

Suddenly, the door of the room swung open, carrying the aroma of oatmeal. Mikayla’s mouth watered at the delicious scent.

“Pumpkin oatmeal!” 

Carlos held a delicate porcelain bowl in his hand. “Ill help you wash up first” 

“Okay, I happen to be hungry!” Mikayla tried to sit up by herself. Lorenzo’s medical skills were really good. The wound on her hand felt much better today. 

Seeing Mikayla’s action, Carlos immediately stepped forward, put the oatmeal aside, and helped her up. 

Seeing him so nervous, Mikayla said. “Em much better now! The wound on my hand doesn’t hurt anymore, except for the foot.” 

“Hmm! The wound on your foot might take some time to recover. You should stay in bed for the first three days,” Carlos advised. He put a pillow behind Mikayla’s back, dampened a handkerchief in the bathroom, washed her face, and brought her toiletries. 

Mikayla felt embarrassed because this was her first bed service. But as she watched his movements, her heart warmed. She didn’t know how others saw Carlos, but in her eyes, he was a man who could melt any woman’s heart. One might be drawn to his appearance at first, but gradually, one would be captivated by his personality. Mikayla didn’t realize that Carlos tenderness was exclusive to her. 

After Mikayla finished washing up, Carlos picked up the steaming bowl of oatmeal beside her and began spooning it, gently blowing on the steam.
