Rejected By Him Claimed By His Uncle (Rita and Leo) novel Chapter 49

Chapter 49
ALPHA LEO’S POV
“Why did you lie to me about needing a Luna to attend this event? I found out that you don’t need one.”
I froze when I heard the question.
I felt bad for lying to her and till now, I had no answer to give her
More than anything in this world, I just wanted to pull her close to me and tell her how much I love her. How hard it has been to stay in the same room as her without permission to go dear her.
I wanted to tell her how much her lips were inviting me and how much I wanted her legs wrapped around my face.
“Tell me,” she said.
“Why did you lie about needing a Luna to attend this event?” She asked again and this time, I opened my mouth to talk, but before I could say anything, the doorbell rang.
I was grateful and annoyed at the same time. Grateful that I was stopped from saying something that could annoy Rita. Annoyed that I had to keep on pretending as the chance of pouring my heart out to her was gone.
The person at the door was the Alpha of Moonstone Pack. I had promised them to join them hunting and the last thing I would do is to go back on a promise. looked back at Rita.
But, I would do it for her.
F**k the other Alphas. I’ll give my pack and theirs to her as long as it would make her happy.
“You should go. We will talk later.”
My heart sank.
Was she not very curious to know the answer to her question? I wanted her to hope I loved her. If she did, it’ll only mean she loved me back
“I have something to do with the other Lunas after all. It will be bad to stay here all alone. Go for your hunting.”
I feigned a smile at her.
A part of me wanted her to ask me to stay, but I did want to stop her from interacting with the other Lunas. It was an added advantage. The six month contract I signed with her was just to get close to her. Rita would be my Luna permanently and I would make sure of it. So, it would be good if she got to know the other Lunas.
Throughout the hunt, my mind was somewhere else.
My Luna, Rita.
She was all I could think of. I wanted her by my side and not these sweaty Alphas surrounding me..
The annoying part was that I felt weird. Like something bad was going to happen to her if I did not go to her now.
My phone beeped.
It was a message from my Beta, Darius. Apparently, the car mechanic that I had locked up for messing up with my car was dead.

Chapter 49
He was murdered in the jail of my Alpha court.
I frowned. This meant one thing. I had disloyal guards. There was no way he would have been murdered if there weren’t an insider. I clenched my fists. Guards that aren’t loyal was the last thing I wanted.
My car mechanic getting murdered meant that someone had truly bribed him to sabotage my journey.
I knew one person that could do something as terrible as ending life so she could avoid a little scolding.
Ivy.
The problem was that I had no real evidence against her and contrary to what people think, I only punish if there was tangible evidence.
I could choose to use Ivy spending a night a few days before my journey with the car mechanic as an excuse to get her arrested and questioned, but she was a whore.
It was her job to spend nights with wolves.
My veins were beginning to bulge. Ivy was truly a bane to my existence.
She wanted to be my Luna. It was the reason shen found a way to seduce my si
sixteen year old self and groom me.
I knew her well enough to know that she would do anything to get Rita out of the way and become my Luna. Perhaps,
life. getting proofs that she had a hand in the car mechanic’s life was a way to get her far from my
Texted Darius to compensate the mechanic’s family heavily. I felt for his family. They lost him because he refused to be faithful to his own mate.
Immediately after hunting, I went back to the villa expecting to see Rita too, but she was not back yet.
The weird feeling came again and Fang began to growl. He was annoyed at me for leaving our mate.
1 dashed out of the villa and went to a spot that I knew was the normal hiking spot of the Lunas, but nobody was around.
Of course, when the Alphas were back, most of the Lunas hurried back to meet their Alphas, but where was mine? Was she
angry a
at me for lying to her? I wondered if she could have left because I lied to her. But, she knew none of the places around here.
I took a deep breath and decided to visit the Alpha of Moonstone pack. My Luna was close to his Luna and I hoped that that was where she was, but when I got there, I did not see her.
I found out that Luna Mitchell had no idea that my Luna went hiking and that was scary. The Luna of Moonstone Pack was the only one I knew that was close to Rita. Regardless, I visited the other Lunas to know if they had seen mine and was able to gather that the last time they had seen her was when she went hiking with the Luna of Night Walkers Pack.
Without thinking twice, I paid her a visit and when I got there, I was not let into the house. Alpha joe stood by the door. The door was partly closed. I could barely see what it was like behind
“I’m here to see your Luna,” I said and he frowned.
Joffered you mistresses, not my Luna.”
1 glared at him and barred my teeth. “If you think you can talk to me the way you like just because you’re an Alpha like me, you should think again. There is a hierarchy to these things and you know it”
He looked away.
I smirked and raised my head-up
Chapter 49
The door opened a little bit wider and I was able to pick a few things behind the door,
I saw Luna Jasmine. Her head was bowed and her face was red and swollen.
What piqued my interest was a necklace that I recognized in her hands.
That was my Luna’s necklace.
I looked up at Alpha Joe’s face. He had a smug look.
I clenched my fists.
The son of a gun had a hand in my Lana’s disappearance.
