Chapter 55
LEO’S POV
What Rita was asking of me was almost impossible. I wanted Ivy as far away as possible from me.
I pulled away from her hug and looked away. I’m sorry, but I can’t do what you’re asking of me. Ivy belongs to my past. I want her nowhere near my present.”
“You have a wrong perception of Ivy. Believe me, she is different from what you think she is.”
I turned to Rita abruptly and glowered at her.
I was pissed. Pissed that my beloved mate was trying to convince me to welcome a homewrecker into my home. It was similar to me trying to convince her to let Sebastian leave with us.
Of course, I could not do that. I would be too jealous to let another male, especially one that my mate had a history with
come near Rita.
And why did she suddenly believe that Ivy was a good person. She said something about Ivy not having to sneak in again Was Ivy sneaking into this place? Was she visiting my mate in secret?
“When did you become close to Ivy?”
“That does not matter. All I know is that Ivy has helped me numerous times. She deserves a second chance.”
“So, she has been sneaking in to visit you?”
Rita remained silent for a few minutes before finally answering. “Yes”
Icocked an eyebrow.
With how much my mansion was heavily guarded, there was no way Ivy would get in without the help of an insider. That was bad. Not all of my staff were loyal to me and that was dangerous. I made a mental note to look into that.
“So, she can stay here, right? You promised.”
I let out an exasperated sigh.
She was right. I promised and Alphas do not go back on their words. I turned to my Luna, drew her closer and ran my hands through her hair. “Because you don’t deceive people, you think everyone who acts nice is really nice. People will take advantage of that. And, I know Ivy well enough to know that she is that kind of person.”
She leaned closer and placed her head on my chest. “I wish I can tell you all what Ivy has done for me. If she wanted to hurt me, she would have done so long ago.”
I took my hands away from her hair and placed them on her waist, then I pulled her closer. “Nobody can hurt you with me
around.”

even if it is the last thing I do. I was only scared of one thing. If Rita trusted Ivy too much, she would only end up getting betrayed just like Sebastian betrayed her.

“I know,” She said and then she looked up at my face with a smile plastered on her face. “So, Ivy is moving in, right?”
“If that is what you want, then she will. I promised after all”

Chapter 55
It was time to finish off tvy–began to stroke my mate’s hair.
Ivy’s presence would have little to no effect on me anyways. I was going to make sure of that, Ivy hurting my Luna would be similar to Ivy digging her grave.
The next day, like I promised, Ivy moved into the mansion and like Rita wanted, her room was in the same wing as ours
But, as the days passed I regretted keeping to my promise. Ivy made sure she took over whatever personal time I had with my mate. I saw her as much as I saw my mate. Wherever my mate was, she was present.
Whenever Rita and I are about to share an intimate moment in her absence, we will see her come in from nowhere.
“You’re just too patient, Fang grunted, annoyed at how we barely spend time with our mate. It was night already, but Kita was not back from wherever she went with Ivy. “You’re the greenest of flags which is something you should not be. You should let me surface more. I’m pretty sure our mate is not here with us because you bore her
I wanted to be careful with Rita. Countless times, whenever I saw Rita with Ivy, I felt the urge to pull Rita into my arms and fling Ivy away through the door, but I had to restrain myself from doing so.
I wanted our relationship to be nothing like what she had with my nephew. As an Alpha, it was my nature to take whatever 1 wanted with force, but for Rita, I was ready to go against this nature of mine.
I mindlinked a maid to get me wine and my wine was brought to me. As I took a few sips, my mind wandered back to the first time I saw Rita. I drank a lot then so I could distract myself from Ama. If I was not a werewolf, I would have been drunk all the time.
Then Rita came. I drank less, because she was all I could think of I liked how much I thought of her, so there was no need for wine.
Now, she was not with me and I had to distract myself from the thought of us drifting apart.
“Get your ass out of this room and get our mate, Fang growled and instead of listening to the wolf, I laid back on the bed.
I was feeling dizzy. A feeling that was strange to me. It felt like I was intoxicated. I sat up straight on the bed and took another look at my glass.
My eyes widened.
That was because I was intoxicated.
This was no ordinary alcohol. This was moonwine. Moonwine was the werewolf standard alcohol. One of the few drinks that could intoxicate us. I frowned at the silly mistake of the maid that had gotten me my drink.
Then the lights went off and the door swung open-
“Little she–wolf? I hoped she was the one. “Is that you?”
as too dizzy to keep my eyes open for too long, so it was hard to see and recognize who was at the door. I tried taking in scent to confirm she was the one, but I was not thinking straight. My mind was hazy and I could barely feel Fang in my head.
I heard footsteps and then, someone joined me in the bed. “You’re back already. Where were you?”
The answer I got was a kiss on my earlobe, but I felt nothing. I had lost touch with Fang too.
It was strange.
