Chapter 107
“Bills” he responded motioning down to the stack of papers in front of him.
“Yikes” I replied as he got back to work. I didn’t talk, I didn’t have to, I knew my dad knew something was up. And he would listen if I wanted to talk. But I really just felt better being in the same room as him, talking or not.
“When did Eric leave this morning?” he finally asked glancing up at me, it was a casual question, but had
a hint of harshness to it.
“He didn’t, he’s showering now, he’ll be up here in a couple minutes” I recited, he nodded, but I could see the curiosity and the protectiveness in his eyes. His nod was slow like he didn’t care, but stiff like he was forcing himself. The door opened and I didn’t turn around because I knew it was Eric. My dad looked up and his stance automatically stiffened, I saw a large figure cover my entire peripheral vision. I looked over, not seeing Eric
The guy was staring directly at me, with absolutely no shame. He was huge, I wasn’t phased because that was almost normal now considering how much time I had spent with Dez, but this guy was roughly Dez’s height and build. He was muscular, had tattoos peeking out from under his white t–shirt. His dark blue eyes opened stared at me. They were shadowed by thick black lashes, followed by a straight nose that was complimented by high cheekbones and a perfect hard jawline. He resembled Dez a little which was weird, but he was so attractive. He needed to shave, but the scruff made him look a little older. His hair
was chocolate brown and a complete mess.
I stared right back because gigantic werewolf males did not intimidate me one bit at this point, and I mean it wouldn’t hurt he was freaking gorgeous. I raised an eyebrow in response to his hard stare.
“Jay.” he said taking a huge hand out of his leather jacket pocket and sticking it towards my face since I was sitting. It was the size of my face, I stared at it for a minute before sticking my small hand in it.
“Kendal.” I responded and let go of his hand that was super warm.
“Who are you?” he asked, not even remotely trying to be casual about it, I awkwardly stood up.
“Uh, see you later dad.” I said to my dad, he nodded and then I walked past this strange giant man and left, I texted Eric and told him I was going home. I slowly walked down the stairs and then down the front hallway. My phone buzzed and it was Eric, he asked if I was okay and told me he was about to go get food
and asked what I wanted.
I looked up and gasped, abruptly stopping because I was about to run into Jay who had magically appeared right in front of me. Which was freaky, because I didn’t hear him at all.
“Jay” I said in surprise instead of saying a curse word.

“Kendal.” He responded, which was basically the conversation we had earlier.
“Have you eaten breakfast?” he asked me.
“What?” he didn’t repeat himself. “No” I finally responded.
“Do you want to go eat breakfast with me?” he said forcibly studying me with those deep blue eyes that I felt like could see all my secrets, I shook my head.
“No” I responded.
“Why not?” he asked his eyebrows furrowing, like no wasn’t a word he heard often.
“Not hungry” I replied slowly giving him a questionable look.
“Please? Just as friends?” he asked, but it wasn’t like a normal please, it was almost like he was telling me. I looked down at my baggy t–shirt and nike shorts. I looked like complete shit. My hair was a mess, my eyes were probably swollen and I knew I had bags under my eyes. Why did this guy want to take me out?.
“I don’t know you, and we aren’t friends”
