“Same” he responded and she nodded walking away but looking over her shoulder once. 

“Thanks” he said stiffly.

“She was going to call the police.” He responded grinning. 

“I know” I said laughing a little because he noticed it too. “No offense, but you look like a total biker gang guy who 

murders people” he snorted in response. 

“Really? Because I was shooting for biker gang guy who only does small felonies” he mused, I grinned in response and she came back with our drinks and he ordered like the biggest plate on the menu that had every breakfast food imaginable on it, and I just got a bowl of cereal and some fruit. 

“So” he said leaning forward resting his elbows on the table basically taking up the entire small table 

between us. 

“Do you love him?” he asked me, I stared at him, and my heart skipped beats. 

“Love who?” I responded feeling my heart fluttering around in my chest making it hard to breathe. 

“Your mate.” He responded, I couldn’t do anything, my breath caught in my throat. I nodded slowly in 

response. 

“Does he love you?” he asked, and the hole in my chest sent a sharp pain through my body. I bit down on my lip and dropped my eyes to the table. I could feel my heartbeat get faster in my chest. I pulled my legs into the booth and hugged myself, trying to keep myself together. 

“I don’t know” I whispered chewing on my lip. 

“That shouldn’t be your answer.” He responded. 

“I know…but it’s the best one I have” I told him quietly, the feeling of wanting to cry rising in my chest with the elevating anxiety. 

“Your mate should treat you how you deserve to be treated. With love and respect. You shouldn’t question whether he loves you or not. He’s a dumbass for letting you feel that way. He should appreciate and cherish what he has, you deserve so much more than that” he said with so much harshness in his 

voice I flinched. 

“I agree” I finally said. He looked mad, and his eyes darted around the room, his jaw was clenched and

But it looked like a sore subject for him and I didn’t even know this person, I wasn’t going to push him. I had never met a hybrid before, this was so interesting.
