Chapter 21
The only good conclusion I could come up with is, that his wolf took over, and that was the alternative to something awful. I finally got to sleep and woke up around 8, I was still extremely tired from lack of sleep, but I knew I wouldn’t be getting back to sleep anytime soon. I got up and went to the kitchen seeing Dez completely absent so I decided to make pancakes. I dug around his cabinet for pancake mix and chocolate chips, since pancakes basically sucked without chocolate chips.
I was in the middle of the 3rd one when I heard a chair scrape against the tile of the kitchen floor, I jumped and turned around finding Dez there looking at me expectantly his hair a mess, in sweatpants and a t–shirt. I thought he was at work. I wanted to ask him why he was here, but I just looked at him before turning back around to my pancakes, feeling self–conscious since this tank top was basically see through and I was positive you could see my black lace undergarments through it.
I chewed on my lip while finishing the 3rd one, I grabbed the syrup and drowning them in it and then sat at the island instead of the table since there was already a person sitting at the table. I drank my coffee and ate my pancakes silently.
Dez didn’t say anything.
I didn’t say anything.
The front door opened and in walked Michael, the little traitor, I glared.
He looked between the two of us, me at the island my back completely to Dez who hadn’t moved from the
table.
“What do you want?” I asked bitterly taking a sip of my coffee.
“I don’t know, why aren’t you at work?” he said looking around me to Dez mid–sentence.
“Why aren’t you at work?” Dez asked.
“I came to look for you, since you weren’t in your office, or running a patrol” he said frowning.
“You’re not my keeper” Dez said hardly, Michael looked at him for a minute before turning his eyes to
me, I glared back.
“I know but…” he trailed off.
“I take it you guys are still fighting” he said to me.
“I take it you’re ready for me to rip your head off, since you’re talking to my mate right?” Dez said behind me hardly, I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

Chapter 21
“N–no”
“Then leave” Dez retorted and he looked at me one last time before leaving shutting the front door behind him quietly, I heard Dez mutter something about him being a twat. Suddenly Dez was standing there leaning against the counter.
“I’m going to run a patrol” he told me. I frowned, why is he suddenly informing me of where he’s going? I don’t actually care.
“Okay” I said monotone, he looked at me for a minute his lips pursed before turning and leaving,
He stopped “Don’t leave this house” he said turning around to face me.
“Why not?”
“Because I said so” I could feel myself getting angry. Because he said so? That’s not a valid reason.
“So what would you like me to do all day then?” I asked him sharply.
“Stay here” he said shrugging.
“No” I said getting up.
“Where do you think you’re going?” he asked me.
“With you” I said, and mentally cursed myself at my impulsive decision, it was too late to agree with him
and back out.
“No you aren’t”
“Yes I am” I said stubbornly.
“I’m running a patrol”
“I heard you the first time” I said bitterly.
