Resurrecting the Genius Within
Chapter 138 Taking Her Home
As George left with Isabelle, Dylan was left to handle the bill alone.
In the private room, Sam sat back, feeling a bit dazed.
Then, a memory flashed in his mind: his uncle’s phone call in the meeting room, the smile on his face as he spoke to a girl, promising to pick her up in Taragon City.
Could that girl have been Isabelle Jenkins?
Sam found himself puzzled. He had discussed it with Dylan, but no answers surfaced. His uncle’s trip to Norward City, where he merely observed Isabelle from afar before departing, remained a mystery.
There had been no interaction between them. Afterwards, his uncle returned to Taragon City, then.
Melfrey, never revisiting Norward City.

Why is Uncle George acquainted with Isabelle, and why does their connection seem enigmatic and captivating?
It seemed his uncle had been the driving force behind their interaction all along.
Sam pondered over the situation. His uncle had previously shown little interest in Isabelle during their conversations.
Observing their interaction now, it seemed they were acquainted for quite some time. Intrigued, Sam glanced at the time and dialled Dylan’s number.
Dylan emerged from George’s residence and returned to his own. After freshening up, he settled down. with his laptop to prepare for the upcoming meeting.
Soon, his phone rang, displaying Sam’s name on the screen. “What brings you to me, Mr. Sam?” he asked, though knowing full well the reason for the call.
A moment of hesitation later, Dylan asked cautiously. “Mr. Sam, I am his underling. I am in no position to talk about his private affairs.”
Sam was fraught with concern. If George discovered his meddling, he’d face serious repercussions.
Even if George didn’t butcher him, the boss of Blackwater would. He did not want to risk crossing either of them.
“Could you at least tell me when they crossed paths? Wasn’t it when Uncle George went to Norward City on my behalf?” Sam pressed Dylan for answers.
Dylan could only offer a vague response, “Ms. Jenkins visited Melfrey during summer vacation and that’s where she met Mr. George. That’s how they became acquainted.”
“She was there for a vacation?”
I know. Absurd, right? Dylan arched an eyebrow.
But that’s what she said, and Mr. George bought it.
That answer left Sam perplexed.

Chapter 138 Taking Her Home
So, Uncle George’s first action upon returning from Melfrey toas to reject the marriage proposal from the Sullivan family because of Isabelle?
Sam pondered aloud, “Are Uncle George and Ms. Jenkins… romantically involved?”
Dylan responded instinctively, “Absolutely not.”
In hindsight, Dylan began to fret. Did I just make a grave mistake? Should I have been more ambiguous rather than outright denying it?
Sam accepted the response and simply replied, “Okay, got it.”
Attempting to interject, Dylan hesitated, “Um, Mr. Sam, you-
There was only beeping.
As Dylan stared at the disconnected call, he muttered anxiously to himself, “Please, Mr. Sam, refrain from any impulsive actions. Even if their relationship isn’t formalised, can’t you discern Uncle George’s sentiments toward Ms. Jenkins?”
After afternoon classes, Isabelle strolled back to the dormitory, her steps light and purposeful, a new suitcase in tow.
Just as she passed the basketball court, a basketball whizzed her way.
“Careful!” Danny’s voice rang out, a note of urgency in his tone.
Isabelle, without breaking her stride, instinctively tilted her head, narrowly avoiding the incoming ball.
The basketball zoomed past her ear, ricocheted off the wall, and bounced back to her feet.
“Wait, boss?” Danny called out, realisation dawning as he recognised Isabelle.
As she glanced at the ball for a moment before meeting Danny’s gaze across the court, Isabelle casually lifted her foot, deftly hooking the basketball with her toe before seamlessly catching it in her hand.
“Dang, Isabelle, give it a shot,” Danny cheered, clapping his hands.
Isabelle eyed the distant hoop, raising her hand and sending the basketball flying.
