Chapter 89 Put It Under My Name! 

Isabelle, who was having lunch, only nodded in response.

“Thanks to my precious daughter, I no longer have to work at that old factory. Now I can stay at home and enjoy life every day,” Eleanor added. 

It was obvious that she had been living a comfortable life for the past two months. Eleanor looked radiant and she was even wearing gold earrings. 

“Do you know that Layla also got accepted into Taragon University? I don’t have to worry since you guys have each other at school. 

“Layla enrolled a few days ago. I wanted her to wait for you, but she mentioned something was happening at school. 

“When are you going? I can take a day off to accompany you,” William offered. 

“It’s fine. I can go on my own.” 

William didn’t push her since he knew that she was capable of taking care of herself. 

“Alright, stay safe.” 

“The school provided a house for us. I was thinking of moving there so that we can take care of you and Layla. However, Ethan is about to start his senior year, I’m afraid that he won’t adapt well. We’ll move to Taragon City after he finishes his college entrance examination,” Eleanor said. 

Isabelle was starting to get annoyed. She was about to clean the table when Eleanor suddenly said. “Isabelle, I have something to discuss with you. 

“Principal Burton mentioned wanting to gift you a house. What are your plans? Whose name do you intend to put it under?” Eleanor asked with a smile. 

If Eleanor wasn’t afraid of Magnus recognizing her and exposing Layla for cheating, she would have hurried to negotiate the location and ownership details with Magnus upon hearing about the house. 

Isabelle stared at Eleanor with a straight face. 

“Since this house is quite expensive, I don’t think that you’re mature enough to make a decision. The school also mentioned wanting to provide Layla with a house. I think both houses should be registered under my name. Since we’re all family, the ownership of the house doesn’t matter, right?” 

“If it doesn’t matter to you, why should it be registered under your name?” Isabelle asked. 

Eleanor’s smile faded for a moment as she recalled the ugly expression on Isabelle’s face back then when she was angry. 

After pondering momentarily, her tone softened, “I’m only worried that you kids don’t know how to handle the matters of the house. Fine, you should put it under Ethan’s name instead of mine.” 

Ethan interjected, “I don’t want my sister’s house.” 

“Hush! What do you know?” Eleanor scolded Ethan.

Then, she turned to Isabelle. “You have a good relationship with Ethan, right? Look, you’ll have to get married one day and you won’t be able to take such a nice house with you. We’ll be at the losing end if your in–laws snatch your house. It will be different if the house is under Ethan’s name. Nowadays, men need to have houses before getting married. Look around our neighborhood, how many single men in their thirties are there? 

“If the house belongs to Ethan, you can always seek protection there when your in–laws bully you. It’s also a stepping stone for Ethan to be successful in Taragon City to own this house” 

“Principal Burton said that the house was a gift to Isabelle. Let Isabelle make the decision herself. Isn’t your name registered under Layla’s house deed? You still have plenty of money, so you can purchase a house for Ethan later,” William suggested. 

“I will buy a house with the money I earn.” Ethan hated his mother’s calculative personality. 

Eleanor glared at William. “What do you know? That house is for us after we retire. What kind of house can I buy with such little money? Do you want your son to stay single for the rest of his life?” 

“Isabelle, I don’t have a choice. When you get married and have children, you’ll know how I feel today. You’re capable of earning money, but Ethan might not be as capable as you.” 

Isabelle nodded. “Do you have Principal Burton’s number? 

Eleanor was delighted. 

“Isabelle. I don’t want the house,” Ethan said. 

Eleanor shot her son another glare and said hastily, “I think Layla has the number. Let me ask her.” 

Eleanor was thrilled and wanted to call Layla.
