Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 103
Sophie had no intention of creating too much tension with James. Since Colt had already asked her for a favor, she felt obliged to help.
She took a taxi to the Burke residence, and upon arrival, she saw Marian sweeping the yard.
Marian was ecstatic to see Sophie and hurried to open the door. "Madam! You're finally back!"
Sophie seldom saw Marian so overwhelmed with emotion. She clearly had been mistreated at home these past few days.
"Marian, is James home?"
"Yes, yes, he is at home!"
But then Marian hesitated before adding, "However, besides the master, that little slut is also here." Whenever Marian mentioned Nichole, she would grit her teeth in hatred.
Sophie was taken aback because, after Bea’s intervention, Nichole was still at the Burke residence. It seemed James really liked Nichole enough to defy Bea’s wishes.
At the front door, Sophie tried to use her fingerprint, but it didn’t match.
"Last night, Mr. James said he wanted to change all the passwords for the locks," Marian explained before she keyed in the new code, allowing Sophie to enter.
Inside, James was with Nichole in the living room. Nichole was reading a book while James patiently explained it to her. The atmosphere between them was warm, much like a couple deeply in love.
Marian coughed twice as she entered and addressed James, "Sir, Mrs. Burke has returned." She emphasized the word 'Mrs.' heavily.
James then looked up, giving Sophie a cold glance as if she were a stranger. "Who allowed you into my home?" His tone was full of disdainful interrogation.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
