"Isn't that right?" Elodie said, her eyes gleaming. "If I'm not mistaken, Ms. Sophie plans to use Aryan's scandal to bring down Reeves International. I saw this coming, and honestly, it doesn't matter if Aryan has to cough up all the money he made for the company. What I really want is Burke International."
"You can have Burke International. The contract I signed with James earlier? I can tear it up. But you must not harm Jenna or any of my friends."
Elodie chuckled, "Relax, I'm a woman of my word. If Ms. Sophie isn't convinced, we can make it official with a contract."
"Fine, let's make it official. You can have Burke International, but don't get too cocky, Ms. Zhou. Even without Burke International, I can still take you down."
Elodie shrugged, casually saying, "Well, let's see about that."
With that, Sophie turned on her heel and walked away. Elodie watched her retreating figure, a smug smile playing on her lips.
Meanwhile—
"Whose side are you on, anyway?" Angelo demanded, cornering James in a secluded spot.
James shook off Angelo's grip but didn't respond immediately.
"Seriously, man! Whose side are you on? And who is this Elodie now? Don't tell me you've fallen for another one?" Angelo's frustration was palpable.
James, looking exhausted, replied, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. Remember, in Devonport, we don't know each other."
Seeing James about to leave, Angelo quickly blocked his path. "You have to tell me. I need to know who my future mentor's wife will be! I can't back the wrong team! Besides, Sophie has been good to me. I think she's genuinely nice. But Elodie? She seems tricky, like someone you don't want to mess with. What's going on?"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
