At the head table, Odie took a swig of his wine, furrowing his brow as he asked, “What’s the deal with Reece and Sophie? Why’s Reece acting like he’s family?”
“Probably just a boss and employee thing,” someone replied.
Hearing this, Odie finally set down his glass and said, “Makes sense, I guess. The Russell family’s out of the picture, and it’s not like they can bring Perry out of jail.”
“Exactly what the boss said.”
The background music at the venue was so loud, Odie felt like his eardrums might burst.
“Who on earth planned this wedding? Which designer?”
“I’m not sure…”
Odie took a deep breath. If it weren’t for the bride and groom, he’d have already left.
“Mr. Colby, do you take this woman by your side, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in wealth and more wealth, in health and in even better health, forsaking all others, to be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
“Ms. Sophie, do you take this man by your side, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in wealth and more wealth, in health and in even better health, forsaking all others, to be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.”
When Sophie and Colby exchanged their vows, the audience erupted in thunderous applause.
Just then, a golden retriever wearing an adorable bib came trotting toward Sophie from a distance.
Though leash-less, little Dawn was well-behaved, carrying a ring box gently in his mouth and placing it in Colby’s hand before wagging his tail, his pink tongue lolling out happily.
Dawn had grown rapidly in just a few days, now resembling a full-grown dog.
Sophie bent down, tears finally escaping her control as she caressed Dawn’s head, saying, “Good boy, Dawn. Our Dawn is such a good boy.”
Dawn happily nuzzled Sophie’s hand, his gaze fixed on the ring box in Colby’s hand.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
