Colby planted a gentle kiss on Sophie’s lips, a kiss brimming with longing. The bathroom was steamy, making Sophie's face flush an even deeper shade of red. In a low, husky voice, Colby murmured, “Darling, don’t you think you owe me a proper wedding night? Shouldn’t you make it up to me, with interest?”
“Don’t you dare,” Sophie shot back, her face turning crimson. “Once! Just once!”
“Hmm? Ten times, you say?”
The next day, Sophie woke up in the soft, oversized bed, feeling sore all over. She couldn’t remember the last time she felt this exhausted, not even after that day when she was chased for over two hours.
She glanced at Colby, who was lying beside her, already awake. Pouting, she said, “Colby, from now on… I want to sleep in separate rooms!”
“There’s only one master bedroom here. You’ll never get to sleep away from me, ever,” he replied, pulling her into a tighter embrace.
Meanwhile, over at the Burke Estate—
“Sophie and Colby haven’t finished their wedding night yet? It’s already afternoon!” Adler exclaimed from the living room, glancing uneasily at Timothy, who was busy in the kitchen.
Seeing Adler so jittery, Jenna tried to calm him down. “What’s there to worry about? Mr. Gordon said, as long as they’re here, nothing will happen.”
“Really? Why do I feel like that kid’s gaze has turned cold? Last night he was a compliant little lamb, and today he’s showing his true colors?”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
