Hearing that the Reeves family had come knocking, Elodie frowned and said, "What's there to panic about? Let them come. I'm busy, just tell them I'm not available."
Just as Elodie finished speaking, a woman's voice rang out from the doorway, "Ms. Reeves, we've come all the way from Harbor City, and now you're saying you won't see us? That's quite dismissive."
The woman's voice carried a hint of provocation and arrogance. Elodie calmly looked at the woman in front of her, who was over thirty and dripping in jewelry, and said, "I thought it was someone important. Turns out it's just Aunt Shannon. Aunt Shannon isn't exactly part of the Reeves family, is she? What brings you here at this time?"
"It's not her who has business with Ms. Reeves; it's us who need to talk to Ms. Reeves!"
The speaker was one of the major shareholders of the Reeves family, followed by other core members of the clan.
Now, they all stood in front of Elodie, glaring at her with anger.
"Ms. Reeves, you said you wanted to expand in Devonport, using so much of the Reeves family's resources. But now, not only have you failed to achieve your goals, but you've also lost the support of the Burke family! This is quite unacceptable to us!"
"That's right! We've come all this way to demand an explanation!"
The Reeves family members were known for their arrogance.
They had never agreed with Elodie becoming the head of the Reeves family. In their eyes, Elodie was just a country girl who came from nowhere.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
