Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1260

Rick shook his head, clearly baffled.

"Why on earth would Harold betray us? How could he even think of turning against us? You're hiding something, aren't you? Now that Sandy's been captured, we're in a tight spot. Spill it!"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Sophie, I genuinely have no idea..."

Rick was completely in the dark.

Sophie's mind was a whirlwind of confusion. She couldn't tell what was real anymore. Was today’s chaos all part of some elaborate plan? And if so, whose plan was it? Was Harold a friend or foe? Was Gordon truly sick? These questions were pounding in her head like a drum.

"Where's Colby? Where is he?"

With Gordon seriously ill, Colby should have been by his side. It made no sense otherwise.

Rick explained, "Mr. Colby got caught up with issues involving the Costello family. He left this morning and hasn't been back since."

"Gone all day?"

That was impossible! Colby was known for his speed and efficiency, especially when dealing with family matters. There was no way it would take him this long.

Just as Sophie was losing hope, Angelo burst in, his voice full of panic, "What do you mean Harold's a traitor? And Sandy's been captured? Sophie, what happened to my sister? Is she really in trouble? Tell me!"

Angelo was frantic. Sandy had always had it easy, never really facing any hardship. The worst thing that had ever happened to her was being shipped back overseas in a container. If she fell into the enemy's hands and was mistreated, it would be a nightmare!

Seeing Angelo’s desperation brought a moment of clarity to Sophie.

"Angelo...?"

"Yes, it's me! Are you losing it too?"

"Thank God!"

Sophie grabbed Angelo's arm and dragged him towards the bedroom.
