Sophie wished she was wrong.
She stared at the document in her hands, sinking into silence. PureColor hadn’t even hit the market yet—how could James have gotten his hands on it? Unless… he did too?
Snapping the folder shut, Sophie’s first instinct was to call the front desk of Burke International.
A professional voice answered on the other end, “Hello, this is Burke International.”
Sophie hesitated, listening to the voice.
“Hello?”
The receptionist sounded puzzled.
Sophie finally spoke up, “...Is Mr. Burke available today?”
“I’m very sorry, but Mr. Burke’s appointments are completely booked for the next few days. You can leave your name and number, and we’ll get back to you within eight hours.”
“…No, that’s alright.”
Sophie hung up, her mind wandering back to what Elodie had mentioned before. If Elodie could come back to life, it meant she wasn’t an isolated case. So, what about James?
If James had come back too, their future was about to get a whole lot messier.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
