Upon hearing this, Colby paused for a moment before speaking, "I was away from Devonport during those years, so I didn't know what was going on."
Sophie looked puzzled.
Noticing her confusion, Colby's eyes darkened just a bit. "Let's head home first, alright?"
"Alright."
Half an hour later, at the Burke Estate.
"What?! You're not the daughter of the Russell family?" Angelo was taken aback, jaw practically hitting the floor.
How could Sophie not be the Russell family's daughter?
Sandy, clearly frustrated, gave Angelo a light smack and said, "Seriously, bro, were you even listening? She said some girl named Claire is claiming to be the real heiress of the Russell family! No one ever said Sophie wasn't the heiress."
"Oh..."
Angelo breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "So, you're saying this Claire is just pretending, right?"
"She's definitely a fake."
Sophie was sure of it, while Sandy asked, a bit skeptical, "How can you be so sure? What if she's telling the truth?"
"Ms. Sandy, you shouldn't tease your brother when you're just as gullible," Jenna chimed in. "It's such an obvious impersonation, no one would believe it, not even outsiders."
Sandy pouted, "Then why would she go around saying she's the Russell family heiress? If no one buys it, isn't she just making a fool of herself?"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
