Inside the house, Sophie had already taken off the gauze. Colby remarked, "Weren't you just crying because it hurt?"
"It doesn't hurt when I do it myself, but when you do it in front of me, I just get so upset I feel like crying."
Colby was caught between a smile and a sigh, unsure how to react. He sprinkled some antiseptic on Sophie's wound, and she immediately felt a cool, soothing sensation. It was surprisingly comfortable.
"Did you used to munch on sweets when you got hurt?"
"Not me."
"Really?"
"I don't have a sweet tooth."
Colby chuckled, "Back then, when we went on missions, Odie, who was a hothead but quite delicate, often got hurt. He was too lazy to carry sweets, so he'd stash them in my pocket. I don't know if it really helped, but it seemed to work for him."
"No wonder..."
"All done," Colby said, quickly bandaging the wound. "Take it easy for a bit, don't stress about anything."
"Okay!"
Sophie snuggled into bed, poking her head out from the covers. "Why aren't you asking me why I'm okay?"
"...I don't really feel the need to ask."
"Why not?"
Sophie frowned. Even Jenna and the others were curious, yet Colby wasn't?
Seeing Colby's awkward expression, Sophie decided to spill the beans: "Actually, it was bec... Mmm!"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
