Sandy declared, "I see the Burke family’s place is quite nice, so I'm staying here from today. Tell my brother to come see me, or else I'll..."
Just as Sandy was about to throw a fit, Joseph's voice floated down from upstairs, "Or else what?"
There was a calm yet mysteriously authoritative tone in Joseph's voice.
Hearing him speak sent an involuntary chill down Sandy's spine. She glanced up to find Joseph standing on the second-floor landing, looking at her with a commanding presence.
Sandy had met Joseph before, down in a basement, but back then, she hadn’t thought much of him. Now, though, his aura left her nearly speechless. The pressure in the air made it hard for her to breathe.
Joseph said, "James, since Sandy is Mr. Angelo's sister, we, the Burke family, should take good care of her. Give Kiran a call and have him check on his sister. We wouldn't want anything to go wrong."
With that, Joseph turned and walked away.
James nodded and instructed the maid downstairs, "Prepare a room for Ms. Sandy."
"Yes, sir."
The maid promptly went to get the room ready, and Sandy, her initial arrogance tempered by Joseph's commanding presence, quickly followed to settle into the Burke household.
Late at night, the silence in the Burke family’s living room was broken by the sound of footsteps.
Sandy was tossing and turning in her room, unable to sleep, without even a bottle of water at hand.
As she opened her door, she heard noises coming from downstairs. Her heart raced with fear.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
