“No way, no way!” Sandy shook her head emphatically. “I’m just curious!” Kiran put a finger to his lips, whispering, “Kiddo, curiosity isn’t always a good thing.”
Sandy and Kiran managed to walk out of the Burke Estate, surprisingly without any hassle from the family. Watching the bodyguards eye Kiran with fear, Sandy couldn’t help but ask, “Brother, what did you do? Why are they all so scared of you?”
“Just remember, in this world, only the weak fear the strong.” Kiran paused, glancing at Sandy, “But you don’t need to worry about that. As long as I’m around, no one’s gonna mess with you.”
Sandy leaned forward, asking, “Can’t you just not be enemies with Sophie and the others?”
“Huh?”
“You shot her!”
“For your sake, I didn’t kill her.”
“But she’s been really nice to me!”
“That’s why I only shot her in the shoulder.”
“I’m not happy about it!”
“Next time, I’ll let her shoot back.”
Sandy fell silent, at a loss for words. Kiran opened the car door, set up Sandy’s favorite pink pillow, and adjusted the seat just right before letting her hop in. Once inside, he carefully buckled her seatbelt.
Sandy pouted, “The way you’re acting, I’ll end up with no friends.”
With a calm voice, Kiran asked while driving with one hand, “What’s more important, your friends or your brother?”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
