Sophie gestured at the piles on the table, then to those on the floor, and finally at the couch, asking, “All of this… and these… everything?”
“Yep, everything,” came the reply.
Tricia had a smile on her face, but to Sophie, it looked particularly menacing!
“How could there be so many reports in just a few months?”
Just then, Jenna and Adler walked in, lugging more files. Adler, balancing the stack, said, “Just these? Sophie, are you being a bit too hopeful? There’s more on the way!”
“…”
Jenna dropped the last stack on the floor and remarked, “Can’t we hire more staff? Is our company really that broke? What kind of place has shareholders doing the heavy lifting!”
Outside, Harold, Odie, and Jonah brought in even more stacks.
Odie gave a cold glance around and said, “I’m not a shareholder here, why should I be hauling stuff?”
Adler clapped Odie on the shoulder, saying, “We’re just a bit short-staffed lately, you know. When Joseph was around, he poached a ton of our people, and now we’re swamped. Besides, didn’t Sophie promise to help you reform the Mintons? Moving a few stacks isn’t a big deal!”
Odie frowned and said, “Get your hand off me.”
Jonah stepped forward and removed Adler’s hand from Odie's shoulder.
Seeing the heaps of files in the office, Sophie felt like backing out for the first time.
“I, I think my injury… might not be completely healed.”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
